Just wondered if anyone had suffered any side effects from taking Pregnacare? I took one after lunch this afternoon (was advised its one of the best prenatal vits) and have been fine all afternoon, but about five minutes ago I got a wave of nausea, really felt like I was going to be sick, and the feeling has stuck. The Pregnacare is all I have taken today so wondered if that could be it. has anyone else heard of/experienced any side effects while taking Pregnacare

I've been feeling sick for a while so i don't think it's the pregnacare - i only started taking it two days ago - was on folic acid tabs before that.
Hope it's not effecting you badly hun

Its not too bad, it kind of feels like when I had morning sickness when I was pregnant but not as rough, just that same sea sicky feeling. I cant be pregnant though as just had my period.

I take mine on a evening with my main meal, i generally take it half way through the meal so it protects my stomach lining, maybe try that?

I've been taking Pregnacare Original since I first started TTC in April 2009 (now 16 wks + 3 days PG). It's never made me sick, but different things can affect different people I suppose. Maybe you're just getting used to it, if you've never taken it before? Hope it settles down.

Best of luck for everything x

Well, I have taken Pregnacare conception before and that has never made me sick so I naturally assumed I'd be ok.

Taking in the middle of a meal seems a good suggestion - maybe that would prevent a reaction to it

The Pregnacare Conception tablets made me really sick with stomach cramps.

My GP suggested that it might be the iron in them that was too much for me (IIRC it is a 100% of your RDA). He suggested that folic acid on its own was ok as long as I had a balanced diet.

I stopped taking it and just stick to the folic acid now.

Must admit they did make me feel ill once but I had taken it in the morning without food. Take with lunch now and seems to be fine (been taking for 3 months). Feel better hun x

Hi asteri, I've been taking pregnacare conception for about 3 weeks now, and I have been experiencing constipation ever since!!! Think it may be to do with high levels of iron. I've now bought some Sanatogen 'mother to be' tablets as the levels of some of the vitamins etc are slightly lower.
