I recently had a d&c, I lost my baby at 10 weeks I found out Dec 29 and went in Dec 31st. We have been desperate to try again. 2 weeks later my husband and I have been active. I decieded to take a test two days ago Jan 23rd and it came out positive then I took another one a clear blue and it said I'm 1-2 weeks. Is it possible that it's a new pregnancy? I don't want to get my hopes up. I have never been through this before, I had a healthy pregnancy before.

Hi sorry for your loss I've just had a d&c after MMC and am ttc again , I think it could definately be a new pregnancy , did you test after your d&c at all to see if it was negative ? I would go dr and get bloods to be sure . In the meantime keep testing to see if it progresses . Good luck :) x

I'm sorry for your loss! :(

It's possible, but it's hard to say without knowing if your hcg levels hit zero in the interim. Good luck!

Thank you! My husband is seeing a fertility doctor and he's been taking HCG and testosterone. He was in steroids for so many years and finally stopped for awhile now but I actually got pregnant before he starting using the prescription. Now he's been on it so maybe that highered his sperm count?

Hey! I just wanted to share my experience. After my d&c I was getting s positive hpt for over a month after. Have you had your period since? Def do a blood test to confirm.

Thank you for your responses! I haven't gotten any bloodwork done yet or even a period but yesterday I noticed a tiny bit of brownish discharge but then went away, not sure what that is from? Should I wait about a week to test again and then call the doctor?

I agree with previous posts, when I had my D&c it took 5 weeks for my HCG level to go below 5. So it's very possible (sorry :( ) thsf it's still the hormone. The only way to know for sure is to get blood work to check hcg. Although if you are pregnant they'll be able to tell you as well. Unfortunately because you haven't had a period between surgery and this you csnt be sure what's causing the positive test. I'd wait and if af doesn't show get some blood work done. :)

Thank you for your post. My other concern is that now I started this brown discharge, no blood and this happened a week ago but stopped after a couple of hours and have no Idea what it means

It is possible it was a bit of implantation bleeding, but on the other side of the coin, spotting after a MC, even a D&C, isn't entirely uncommon, either. I'd say keep testing every few days. If your lines get darker, it's new. If they get fainter, it's remaining hcg from your D&C (mine took nearly 6 weeks to get back to normal).

Thank you! I'll definitely keep retesting! After the brownish discharge I actually started to bleed very little.. Then it stopped and When I wipe there's nothing there

Hi bella. I had an erpc (d&c) last week. BBeforehand the nurse said that bleeding after surgery could continue for a week or until your next af.
I hope you get the answers you want.

Thank you for your reply.. I ended up actually getting my period today. It's a lot to, never had my period like this before. I can still get + tests even on my period?

Nurse also said first period could be different and heavy but she didn't mention + tests. Perhaps test again afterwards? Do you have a early pregnancy clinic you can call to ask?

Yes it definitely is alittle heavier. I wish I did have a clinic to call but have no idea of one being around. Should I just wait until it stops to test again? Or should I call my doctor? All of this is new to me. This was my first d&c and miscarriage. I had a healthy pregnancy so I never ever thought this would happen. I appreciate everyone's responses it really helps.

I never thought this would happen to me either. I had a very early mc two months before I got pregnant with my healthy dd. Then I had an 8 week mc in july 2014 and two months later I was pregnant again which ended in mmc.
When it's your health I always go to the doctor. When I was younger I would feel like I was wasting their time. Now I feel that if they check you out and it's nothing then that's great. I'm going to find my booklet I was given on the procedure and see if it says anything.

I'm so sorry for loss. I'm really glad I found this site because Iv done nothing but research and research on everything and all the women on here understands and have gone through losses so I knew this was the best place to go. Thank you I would appreciate that! Thank you for your advice.

Ah sorry nothing in the booklet but it told me I should go get my hair done at the hairdressers. I can't ignore that piece of advice.

Haha that's an awesome advice.. It took my husband and I over a year to get pregnant, I feel like that is what's going to happen again :nope:

Me too. I'm going to be terrified if I get pregnant again. There's a lady on another thread who had three miscarriages in a row and now she's on her second healthy pregnancy.
My dh and I started trying last xmas. We got pregnant quite quickly with no 1 including that first mc so I thought baby no2 would be here by now.
do you mind me asking how old you are?I'm 36 so age is against me. I think WHEN we get pregnant again we have to belive it will be a happy and healthy 9 months.
I've just started taking coq10 for cell health and continuing folic acid. I've heard maca is good too so for fertility so I may get some of that too.

Oh wow, I'm just very worried because Iv had a leep procedure done where they remove pre cancer cells in the cervix and mine was so high grade where they didn't get it all so Iv been on supplements which I think helped and Iv been getting clear paps for a year now but I just worry that it will come back and at the time before I switched OB's he told me that I would need to get pregnant within a year because I would need a hysterectomy. Well I switched OB's and the one I have now is very positive that I will be fine, but I still have that in the back of my mind. I'm going to be 27 February 7th I was hoping that maybe I would of found out good news by my bday. It's hard dealing with a loss of a baby. I think about it all the time. I actually have been taking folic acid, I'll look into the other supplements! My husband has been on steroids for so many years but stopped for about 6 months now and she's been on HCG and testosterone from the fertility doctor so I would be surprised if I didn't get pregnant because we were more active after the surgery then we were before I got pregnant and he received the prescription from his fertility doctor after I found out I was pregnant so he's been on hcg and test since November
