Hey all,
I am new to this group and got my positive pregnancy test couple of days back.

I am Type II diabetic, I was diagnosed last year and from then I am trying to get it under control. Last month my doctor said I have 6.6 H1A1C and that I can try conceiving. I am successful first month itself.

But now I am freaked out cause I still have to search for an OB-GYN and in the mean while I am scared if my baby is doing good....Does anyone have any idea what normal blood sugar levels are for pregnancy!!!

I am also on 500mg Metformin which I take once before sleeping.

Pls Pls help.

hello, dont panic. its early days and it will take some getting used to adjusting everything its not easy to control when pregnant but all you can do it your best!! :hugs:

my targets are below 5.9mmol pre-breakfast and below 7.8mmol 1 hour after meals if thats any help

xx

Thanks ProzacQueen. I am trying to limit my carb intake and mostly drinking milk, having fruits and eggs....

Appu wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy - try not to worry too much.

I have been told to keep mine between 4 and 8 mmol/l any time of day - mine tend not to follow the pre and post prandial recommendations and after meals for me can be lower than before meals but that is cause I am on insulin.

Stay on a low GI diet and try to monitor your levels more than you normally would.
