Hi all, I'm WTT right now but we want to wait until after my period (estimated to start around 1st april) which would make me at most 16 weeks for my wedding (if im lucky and get pregnant straight away)
My dress looks like this kinda aline/ball gown and is a zip at the back.
When i bought it they said the girl who alters dresses are very good and she can adapt most dresses to accommodate a bump and my dress might not even need altered if my bump is low.

What do you think, will it fit?

(before anyone asks no i really can't wait tot ry any longer, we have been waiting for so long and the thought of even waiting 3 more months breaks my heart, definitely can't wait any longer)

It's your first baby so you might not show at 16 weeks and all women are different. If I was in your shoes on the other hand, no the dress wouldn't fit. My belly would be popping out! My brothers getting married and the kind of styles I'm looking at have to be flared from below the bust. The dress in your picture is fitted on the belly so the style would need chnging. But like I said all women are different. GL

My dress is slightly different to that one, wish i knew how to get my one up. It's tight under my boobs, for about an inch down and then flares out so it isnt too tight round the belly area. I'm a size 16 anyway so because im bigger i dont think ill show very quickly?
I hope the next 3 months fly by.

It really depends on your body. I know for me it definitely wouldn't fit not even my first pregnancy. I'm a small thin girl but I pop really early and get quite huge pregnant rather quickly. Your call, it really depends on how your body will handle it. I know some of my friends would fit no problem at 4 months...

I would have fit at sixteen weeks no problem. I'm barely showing now. Twenty two weeks. I wouldn't stress about it too much especially if you have someone to alter it.

As others have said it depends on your body. It might be your boobs that are the biggest problem with this dress. Is there any way you cam have the zip changed to a lace up back... Should give you a bit more breathing space. Good luck!!

I guess it will depend on what you're body does. I didn't show until I was 6 months, and I was actually underweight when I got pregnant but still didn't show until then. However, if the dress is fitted at the bust, I would have had problems as I went up almost 3 sizes very early and stayed that way. I was huge up top. Good luck

I wouldn't fit into the dress either considering how I look at 14 weeks; stomach is definitely protruding. I started out underweight though so I was trying to gain weight when I got pregnant to be healthy (although I've been at this weight before and my stomach was flat). It could work depending on your body type though!

I got married when i was 18 weeks with my first baby and i wore a similar dress and didnt have any alterations as i wasnt really showing then.

I've had severe morning sickness from 7 weeks pregnant worse at 16-19 weeks so I couldn't have done it at all. hoo nope nope nope

For my 1st pregnancy i still would have fit in it at 7 months lol next 3, nope.

The belly would not be an issue for me, but as someone else mentioned perhaps the boobs would be!

I would still have fit during my first pregnancy.
Boobs may be another issue. I got married at 34 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and had issues squeezing those bad boys in even though I was in a proper maternity gown.

I was a size 14/16 when I had my first baby. At 18 weeks I definitely had a bump and would probably have needed some alterations on a dress. I would definitely recommend considering getting the back altered to a corsetted/lace up back as you could 'pop' unexpectedly and it might be nice having the ability to make last minute adjustments (or to let the lacing out a bit) in case you need it.

I really sympathize with your situation... DH and I had been waiting for years before we got married and had been planning our wedding for nearly 2 years and I was SO desperate to start TTC, but hubby insisted we wait (it was probably the only thing we fought about at all!). After the fact, however, I was SOOOOOOOO glad we hadn't tried earlier as I was absolutely, horribly sick/nauseous for the first nearly 20 weeks. It definitely would have ruined both my wedding and honeymoon. We started TTC two weeks before our wedding and were lucky enough to conceive right away, and got our BFP while on our honeymoon, which was such a special moment/surprise.

Everyone is different and I hope your pregnancy is a BREEZE, and I'm not telling you the above to be discouraging, but just because I had envisioned a completely different pregnancy experience for myself (as it turns out, I severely dislike being pregnant) and it was such a huge shock and disappointment for myself that I hadn't been better prepared for a 'worst case scenario'. I just wanted to share my experience so that if you're able to get a BFP quickly (fx'd for you!) that you might want to consider 'contingency plans' in case you have similar issues.

Wishing you the best of luck :flower:

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
I got married at almost 10 weeks and I would have fitted in that dress perfectly. But after 12 weeks I started showing and I def had a considerable bump at 16 weeks. But If you can alter your dress, as the other have said, consider your boobs also not only your belly cause many women dont show until later...but most of the time the boobs cannot wait:haha:
I was wearing a bolero (Thank God) and had to open one button of my dress during the reception cause I couldnt take it any longer.
Go for it! no reason to wait for your baby!
baby dust to you!!

I wouldn't have fitted in it as it is but if it was adapted I might have, I am short though so popped out quite early. I wore a specific maternity wedding gown because I was 34 weeks pregnant!
