I've no idea if this is pregnancy related but thought it was worth asking if anyone else has had the same issue! Everytime I wash my hair now I find a dandruff type issue, just at the front of my scalp where my hair parts. I've tried using anti dandruff products and rinsing my hair really well but it doesn't make any difference. I've had this for a few weeks now, but just started to notice quite dry flaky skin on my hands today too so wondered if it was all connected and just another delightful symptom of pregnancy. It's horrible as it comes off in big flakes and sticks in my hair :(

I have been suffering with this in exactly the same area as you describe.I have been searching all over the internet and found that there is a shampoo especially for the scalp in The body shop....Ginger shampoo.Apparently it has worked on many people and has great reviews.I haven't tried it yet but maybe we should give it a go.

I have dandruff in the same area as u too! It's so annoying I never had it before being pregnant and is embarrassing

It really is embarrassing! Sometimes I go straight out after drying my hair without thinking about it, then when I get home and see it in the mirror I feel horrible. Wonder if the ginger shampoo is worth a try. Glad I'm not just going mad anyway, I googled if and apparently pregnancy dandruff is a real issue, but a lot of anti dandruff shampoos can't be used during pregnancy, so I'll keep googling for some suitable suggestions!

Me too! It is itchy too and was horrified when I asked my husband to see if there was anything there causing the itching and he said it was dandruff! Think I may look in the body shop for some ginger shampoo tomorrow, thanks for the recommendation! I'd been using head and shoulders but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

My skin in general is drier, but you can't exactly slather your scalp in moisturiser can you! (my husband suggested I did that...) xx

Mine is itchy too, but it makes it look even worse when I scratch it! Head and shoulders is what I've been trying too but used two big bottles now and no difference. It's annoying as I've got three long days at work coming up so was planning to just wash my hair every other day, I did it this morning ready for work tomorrow, but already feel like I need to wash it again even though it doesn't really help!

I've got this too and didn't think it was pregnancy related, but now I'm thinking it is.

I have this problem, it's awful. I also have very dry skin since being preggo, I am putting it down to one of the joys of being preggo. I have tried dandruff shampoo, tee tree oil, coconut oil and nothing works.

Since falling pregnant I am suffering terribly with dry skin everywhere, including dandruff. I've been using The Body Shop's Ginger Shampoo, Vitamin E Facial wash with day and night moisturiser and Vitamin E Body Butter and it has been working fantastically for me. Only been a week but I am finally itch free.

I was also very paranoid about 'something' in my hair (especially as I was with my two young SIL's who are 8 and 9 and they had been sent home from school with a letter informing parents that a child had head lice and they were to be checked/treated just in case they caught it). I asked hubby to check it for me and was almost more embarrassed by the dandruff. He also suggested lathering my head/hair with moisturiser. My hair is waist length, how much moisturiser does he think I have?

Me too! And I never had dandruff before pregnancy. If I rub on my scalp, my fingers have yucky skin bits on them.
I also have extremely dry feet. Don't know if that's related or not.

I was studying hairdressing at college until recently and am thinking about getting a hot oil treatment done there as the oil is just applied to the scalp and is specifically for dry scalps. Might be worth any of u ladies seeing if u got a training college near u as they are very cheap, I'm not sure what a salon would charge but know I wouldn't be able to afford it

I've been using head and shoulders but it's not working. My skin is dry too, I use aveeno moisturizer for that which works well. I'll have to check out that body shop shampoo.

I have psoriasis which has been really active the last few weeks and nothing is working and can't use my steroid creams while pregnant. I was using e45 for a while but that's stopped working too.

Hmmm, gonna look at the ginger shampoo I think xx

Yes! I've NEVER suffered with dandruff in my whole entire life. I swapped from my normal shampoo to a super moisturizing one with natural bee's honey in and also use an intensive conditioner too. I found this stops it, and I thought my hair would end up super greasy (because I have naturally greasy hair, so using a super moisturizing hair product always made it 10x worse!) but it's actually the opposite. I guessed it's our bodies changing, but could also be something to do with the awful weather (cold spells/warm spells/dry/wet etc) because my family and friends have started to have the same complaint?
Hope you find a solution soon though! :)

Right I bought Asdas own anti dandruff shampoo and used it for the first time the other day and so far no dandruff!!! :-) I won't use it again unless I get dandruff again as these shampoos are not good for ur scalp in the long wrong so ill be back to my Tigi bed head until then lol

I got of the body shop ginger shampoo today, and their banana conditioner, so fingers crossed it starts to work miracles! X

Any luck yet ladies?

I didn't think my hair looked too bad yesterday, but then I had an itch on my scalp, scratched it and it was like a snowstorm! :(

Today I've tried putting moisturiser on my scalp along my parting and left it for a while before washing my hair as normal. Just about to dry it so will see if that made any difference but not feeling hopeful! Washed it using head and shoulders again but that hasn't really helped so far.

My skin is really dry. I have dandruff and my face is dry and peeling around my hairline. My palms are itchy and dry too.
