Is anyone out here dyeing this hair and can recommend preganancy-safe eyes (available in USA)?
A patch of my hair turned grey right above my forehead with my first pregnancy and now wih the second one, it has spread to the entire outline of my face :(
I feel so horrified and depressed looking at myself.

I have the same question! Gonna ask my doc if it's safe to dye and if he knows of any safe dyes. If he says its ok I'm gonna call my friend who is a cosmetologist and see what she recommends. I'll post as soon as I know!

I'm not in the US but in the UK. Throughout both my pregnancies I've used nice n easy non permanent hair dye. It's supposed to be fine. There are no proper case studies linking hair dye with birth defects, the reasons why people avoid it is because your hormones can make it go a funny colour!!

I don't think I would use permanent as the chemicals are pretty strong but non permanent seems to be fine!

The product Fleur mentioned is completely fine (it has to say non-permanent) Adore, do natural colours too that cover greys or at least, blend them.

However, hair dyes such as semi and permanent dyes are fine to use as long as
* you do a skin patch test at least 48 hours before dying your hair.
* keep the room ventilated

Being pregnant you can have reactions to products you have used normally pre-pregnancy.

I get my hair high lighted every 6 weeks. My hair dresser says it's perfectly safe because the dye doesnt touch the scalp. But even normal hair dyes aren't linked to any problems apparently. It's more to do with the fumes aggrevating morning sickness and hormones altering the colour x

Thank you for all your responses! I'll try the brand mentioned.
Glad to know getting highlights in the salon does not cause problems. I'll go get a lovely haircut and highlights for my baby shower :)

ive dyed my hair a few times with my first pregnacy & once so far this time around, aslong as ur have enough ventilation then just do it all as normal, only thing i have heard regarding problems is the same as someone posted above me, is that our hormones can alter the colours slightly, but its never personally happend to me .. so open a window in the room ur dyeing your hair in, or even if in the hairdressers ask if u can sit near a fan or with AC on or something :) ... happy colouring xx

Henna is all natural. It washes out quicker but doesn't damage hair or have harsh chemicals

I just dyed my hair with Feria--it turned out the right color. I asked my OB beforehand if it was safe, and she said the hair dye thing is a myth. It's apparently left over from the 50s and 60s when there really were bad things in the dyes (like lead or other metals) but now they are totally safe for us.
Dye away!

As pp said-henna. I am using this and it's great! Good for your hair, no harsh chemicals or parabens
