I normally have to set 3-4 alarms over an hour period and wake up slowly. My entire life I've been a groggy coffee needing person in the morning.

The past few days I've been WIDE awake at 5-530.

I get up, use the bathroom, try to fall back asleep but I feel too awake.
One day I got back to sleep and woke up at 8 feeling like a log I was so exhausted feeling.

Is waking up early a pregnancy thing??

Maybe you've just actually been an extra early morning person until now but you never knew it!!

I was similar in early first tri ready to go first thing then by about 2pm would hit the wall. I think its quite normal and will vary over the next couple of months

Yes its a pregnancy thing! I'm up some mornings at 3:30am!! Ready for the day, and by the time I actually fall back asleep my kids are awake lol! Thankful for afternoon naps at this point!

Yup, me too, get up at my usual time with no reminders needed.:winkwink:

This same thing is happening to me!! I'm just barely pregnant (I believe around 18 dpo) and I've been popping awake at 5 or 6 am. I don't like it... I love the feeling of sleeping in, and I figure those days are over once baby arrives, so this is my last chance and I can't do it anymore!

Same here I was sleeping til 9-10ish everyday now by 6am I cant wait to get up Ive usually already laid there a good hour. Its kinda nice tho my days are so much longer!

Oh I sympathize. Some days it because of the crazy dreams. Others, it's because I was so tired the night before I just crashed out early. Sometimes it's because I've gotten up to pee the 6th time and just give up on the whole laying down thing.

I'm going through something similar! It's always been hard for me to get out of bed and it still is. I still have to hit the snooze button about 3-4 times. Haha. I've always been a huge grouch in the morning and don't even really wake up before I've had at least 3 cups of coffee. Well, since I've found out I'm pregnant, I've been ridiculously chipper and energized in the morning! I have cut the caffeine back a loooot too and maybe that has something to do with it. So crazy.

Lifeafterdepo, so happy you got your BFP!!! :hugs:

Sleep is not easy for me when pregnant....not easy at all. I am up early...and when I sleep I toss from side to side. LOL

I wish this would happen to me all I want to do is sleep, I have to drag myself up in the morning for Michael and Uni

That happened to me in the very beginning, like weeks 4 and 5, then the intensity of my sleepless nights (from peeing, nightmares, overheating, you name it) took their toll and I went back to before and sometimes even worse than before, instead of getting up at 8am like I'm supposed to getting up at 10am. When I'm supposed to be working. LOL. So, for me, the weird morning person thing didn't last long (I'm also not usually a morning person at all) I literally woke up at 4am or 5am or 7am every day in the early weeks. Now I'm like, I could sleep the whole day through and still not feel like I've had enough sleep!

Yep same here. I've always 'managed' to get up with help from alarms and hubby but this last week or so I am up, alert and ready to go by 6-6:30!! I love it and hope it stays!! However, by 3pm I'm fit for nothing which is not so great in work!!

I keep waking up at 6:30am, never used to be a morning person either... You would be lucky to get me up before 10 lol one of the perks of working in the afternoon ;)

Still waking up with the chickens over here! And the BBs feel SO SORE first thing in the morning! Like it hurts to turn over! Then I get up to use the bathroom, feeling like my bladder is about to explode, then it's literally a dribble. Not complaining, but it's strange to feel this way! My husband said "you're too early to have all that." So I made him read the 5 week page on What to Expect and he then understood. LOL
