I have two healthy children, then started to have miscarriages. I'm 33 so I dont have an increased risk with age. I suffered a miscarriage in 2009 and recently at the end of December in 2010. I called the doctor because I havent started my period since the miscarriage. I took a pregnancy test and it was still showing positive. I called the doctor expecting to have to go in and have a dnc, but low and behold my hcg levels where at zero three weeks ago, so I was pregnant again. I'm totally shocked. The doctor had told me to wait for 2 to 3 normal periods before we tried again, and I thought we were careful(ish). Was wondering if anyone has gone on to have a healthy pregnancy after getting pregnant so quickly after a miscarriage. I'm terrified that this will end in another miscarriage. I have had all the tests done after my second miscarriage to see if there was any underlying problems that contributed to my 2 miscarriages, and all came back fine. Looking for any support.

I waited after my mc so no advice - just wanted to say congratulations and hope you
have a H&H 9 months - there is lots of support on here :)

i was due 4/3/11 when i miscarried and got preg straight away and now due 4/4/11 and so far so good x

Hi..congrats on yr BFP!! i am same as you..had m/c in dec & now pg again without a period..ignored docs advice to wait for couple of months..we have probs conceiving so really thought our chances were zero... here i am pg again so soon....

Like you i worry my body wasnt ready..but i have been tracking my hormones via blood tests for 18mths now & my bloods last month after my m/c were best they had ever been..so i am trying to hope this is a positive sign that my body was actually ready...

But to tell truth I do feel odds are stacked against me &have searched high & low for positive stories like ours on net...it just gives me comfort on my low moments...& there are many positive stories of sucessful pg month after m/c.

wishing you the very best & hope we both stay long enough to share many more chats on this forum.

I fell pregnant two weeks after my 5 week miscarriage and sadly we did lose Isabella but they reassured me that there is no way it was linked to getting pregnant straight away.

I know plenty of women who had healthy babies with no period inbetween.

My consultant says if the lining is enough that soon after a miscarriage for a baby to implant then you have no higher risk of miscarrying than anyone else.

Congratulations!!!

Hi. I miscarried on 14th December and got my BFP again on 27th January with no AF in between. I spoke to my doctor last week and she said that my main problem will be that we don't have any idea how far along I am but the midwife may refer me for an early dating scan when I see her. She said though that my chances of having a healthy pregnancy are just the same as everyone else's, it's in the hands of mother nature.

Fingers crossed for a healthy and happy 9 months for all of us.

Hey,
I'm pregnant now straight after my mmc in November. I'm hopeful that all will be well. I think that my symptoms are different now - more stretching and cramping, which I've decided is a good sign.
I know of people that have had healthy pregnancies straight after miscarrying. I also read that a lot of the reason they ask you to wait is because of the anxiety caused by not being able to date the pregnancy properly - eg no heartbeat at scan because you're not far enough along. I've decided to wait until nearly 11 weeks for my scan, so at least I know either way when it comes to it. I also read that D&C can scrape lining badly and that is another reason to wait, but if you didn't have this you have as much chance as being safe as anyone I think - I hope anyway. Good luck :)

congrats on your bfp :happydance: I had a mmc at 16 weeks in april got pregnant straight away in may and am almost 39 weeks pregnant and everything has gone well so far. I was constantly worrying at the beginning as i had no symptoms but i have just been lucky enough to have a great pregnancy (my sons was awfull) i hope everything goes well for you :hugs:

I miscarried fraternal twins(natural) at 9 weeks on august 1st, the got pregnant again august 27th. I am 3 days shy of 24 weeks with identical twin girls (also natural!)- all is very well and my girls are doing great!

ahh thats wonderful news..your twins obviously decided they wanted to choose a different day to make their entrance into our world...

Hello,

I lost my first son in Nov 08 due to pre-term birth, 6months later I was preg again only to suffer a mmc at 8wks a month later preg again but sadly the same happened again. My last mmc was Dec 09 and by Feb I was preg again - this time after waiting patiently I carried my son to 35wks when he was delivered safely into my arms. Miscarriage is terrible but if you have had all the tests and nothing conclusive has been revealed then sometimes we just have to accept (although difficult) that sometimes these things happen.

Best of luck with your preg, I know preg after loss can be so difficult.

Went to the doctor yesterday and all my levels are great and I even heard the heartbeat!!! Since I hadn't had a period after the miscarriage, I thought that the positive test just showed that I hadn't completely miscarried. The doctor told me that the test 3weeks earlier showed my hcg was at zero so this was a new pregnancy. He said it was a miracle that the test hadn't shown some elevation in my hcg due to the pregnancy, which they would have assumed to be an uncomplete miscarriage and would have performed the DNC unknowingly terminating this pregnancy. I feel so blessed that for whatever reason the test didn't show any hcg at the time. I'm due October 2 with the start of a very healthy normal pregnancy. Thanks for all your support!!!

It's great u have had some good news Hun. I got my bfp straight after a mc too, and my daughter is here now :) stay strong and good luck!

Congratulations on your :bfp: :D

I mc'd on 13th Feb 2009 and had a new :bfp: on 14th March 2009 and our son was born in the November at 38 weeks :cloud9:

This time, following our loss in December we decided to wait until after my first AF to NTNP again but not because we were told we should (they actually said it was fine for us to TTC again as soon as we felt ready) Just because we felt it was the right thing for us, as we needed some time to feel 'ready' again.

Hope everything goes well for you
