Just curious but how common is it to have a uterine rupture due to getting pregnant 6 months after a c section?

I'm currently pregnsnt, I got pregnsnt 6 months afterwards. I have been warned of a high risk of uterine rupture, especially if I choose to be induced. If I opt for vbac, I have risk of rupture, or higher chance of needing assisted delivery, if I get induced more increased chance of both, otherwise I have the risks of repeated c section. x

so theres always a chance of it no matter what i guess

I think there's always the risk. I got pregnant 9 months after my first c section. I tried for vbac but failed to progress so ended up with a second c section. Might have been a blessing in disguise as the surgeon said any further deliveries will have to be c sections as I hadn't healed well from the first.

There's always a risk, but the sooner you get pregnsnt, the higher the chances of it happening. I was told if I had waited 18-24 months, the scar internally eod be much better healed and stronger, than getting pregnsnt 6 months after. If we hadn't lost Joshua shortly after birth, we'd of waited a year before trying again. x

I asked my doc today he said I should wait 9-12 months

i had a emcs 6 weeks ago and we want to try again when little one is 3 months. hoping when we see the doctor next week they'll give us some sort of guide line thats not 18 - 24 month :)

This is exactly me lol.
We were planning on 6 months but my doc said he wants me to wait at least 9, even though I have pcos so see it taking a while.

I found out i was pregnant with DS2 when DS1 was 6 months old woops. Never had any issues with "uterine rupture" liek with anything there is always a chance, and sadly OB's and Hospitals etc like to scare you. Plenty of research out there to say otherwise, there is also the sad fact that Hospitals often prefer to cut you open, as they get more money. So unlike me who was stupid back then, make sire you get second/third opinions etc. Like i will be when i get pregnant this time around. Only difference for me this time will be a 6 or so year gap, rather than 15 months. If they tell me i cant VBA2C i'll tell them to go jump.

i think i'd struggle to wait 6 months :) i'm finding it hard waiting the 3 me and hubby agreed on :haha: it took us awhile to fall pregnant first round as well.
i got told by one doctor i have pco and my another i don't. not sure what to think there

Well I'm doing what's medically best for my family. I'd hate to leave hubby with 2 kids and no me. Plus I'm waiting to see what the 4 month sleep regression brings me!

I have no idea, i got pregnant when emily was 10 months old and i was terrified to even try for a vbac so i went straight for an elective c-section and i am so glad i did xx

I believe the stat is less than one percent.

I got pregnant with my 4th baby 10 weeks after my 3rd one was delivered. They are happy and healthy. You just got to be careful as much as you can. And slowly phase in a little work at a time. The first c-section is usually awkward afterward. But when it is unavoidable it does get easier. Heck I feel like a veteran of c-sections after 4 (lol). My c-sections were July 2007, August 2009, December 2011 and November 2012. So yeah I got my hands full. But do what you can as you can. And listen to your body.
