Prem baby born at 33 weeks is now 4 weeks old having abit of constipation

Im a first time mum and had my baby girl 7 weeks early, she was in neonatal unit for a month she is finally home i'm expressing milk but to top it up i'm using fortifier so boost up her weight. She does break wind alot but she becomes constipated for a few days which causes her to really push and go red. Im not sure what she could take to help loosen her up.

Our neonatal unit recommended lactolose . You can buy over the counter at boots.

My daughter had similar issues She was born at 31 weeks. Our physician said that some babies become constipated and it is ok for babies not to have a bowel movement for up to 7 days as long as when they do, the poop is not very hard.

its really normal for bf babies to go up to 5-7 days with no pooping, because the absorption is so effective, the fortifier does also mean they can be irregular as long and baby seems comfortable and the belly is soft id say its normal and wouldn't wanna introduce any meds (going on experience im a neonatal nurse). if you are worried go doctor but im sure its normal providing baby is not in pain with it

wat did u do to relieve constipation,my baby also has same proble,she is preterm 33wks also..
