Prenatals making my hair greasy?

I started prenatals about three or four months ago, I can't remember now. I usually have to use a ton of conditioner on my normally dry hair, but I've noticed that since I started prenatals, my hair is much more moisturized/more oily. I had to actually stop using conditioner because that combined with the increase in oil makes my hair look absolutely terrible and greasy. The problem is, if I don't use conditioner, my scalp gets super scabby and full of dandruff. The scabbing and dandruff gets so bad that I end up having to bite the bullet, use conditioner for a day, and look like a grease rag that day.

Anyone else experience this? Any tips on what I can do to re-balance my hair?

How often are you washing your hair?

Every other day. I used to wash it every day for years and years and never had a problem. I also blowdry and straighten whenever I wash it but again, I've also done that for years and years and never had a problem.

I used to sleep with it in tight ponytail every night, but I stopped that several months ago as well and now just sleep with it down.

A couple years ago I started to notice that my hair would change twice a year, the fall and the spring. In the fall it would get limp and flat and I'd have to use a lot of volumizing product in it all winter. In the spring, it would get frizzy and I'd have to start using smoothing serums on it all summer.

Are you pregnant? Sorry I'm not sure what BCP means in your signature…

My hair became WAY more greasy when I got pregnant and I still have to use a certain kind of shampoo now…. there's a silicone free pantene clear kind I like, but I know hair experts probably say not to use that all the time. All I know is if I don't wash it daily it gets really really gross.

At least I assumed it was the pregnancy and not the prenatals. I think I started prenatals a few months-a year before I got pregnant. I can't remember exactly.

BCP in my sig means both contol pills. I don't think I'm pregnant, but AF is due today but hasn't showed up, but I got a :bfn: yesterday so maybe pregnant? Hopefully pregnant!

Oh well I don't know if it would be that sudden but I'd suspect hormonal changes from stopping the pills if that fits within the time frame

I'd use a shampoo for oily/greasy hair and or anti dandruff, then you can apply the conditioner only at the ends where you need it.
Xx

This started happening to me after having really dry hair after I started prenatals...But I'm pregnant, so for me it's that I think! :haha:
