Hi

im booked in for a c-Sec for the 12th sept as both babies are breach and don't really know what to do about my bits

my bump is quite big and seems to of stretch my pubic area up quite high...prob a few cm's longer than it normally is.....not sure if this is normal or not but its whats happened to me. i used to wax all the time but since becoming pregnant ive been quite lazy and just trimmed sorry if tmi.

what did you ladies do to prepare? id prefer not to shave the area due to in grown hairs etc....is waxing safe as it would be on the lower part of my bump?

thanks

Yes waxing is just fine well my dr said it was anyway, as long as they dont double dip the stick for bacteria reasons. If you don't shave it or remove the hair above the bikini line they will do it for you to prep the area for surgery.

Waxing is meant to be really really painful whilst pregnant as your skins more sensitive...

I've been shaving since my bump appeared just to keep on top of it - I didn't with DD1 and was ridiculously beast like down there! :flower:

I didn't have time to shave first. I found out I was having a c-section at 8am and was allowed a quick shower and then taken right to labour and delivery to get monitored and prepped. I was already in the hospital so I didn't have the option.

They didn't shave me for my c-section. I haven't shaved "down there" in 2 weeks and it needs it but they didn't do it.

I shaved the night before i went into labour and ended up with a EMCS, if you dont shave then they do it for you x

They just shave/trim the line where the incision goes. At least it looked like that on mine.

I had mine a week ago. They shaved me not every but just where they needed to for surgery.

They can't shave or cut it all coz some people keep intentionally. They don't want to be accused of abuse.

They didn't shave me at all, but I guess I just didn't need to be shaved where the incision is.

They shaved the top part for me before I went into theatre x

I used veet sensitive hair removal cream for that area....the night before my last induction and will be doing the same before my next c-section in December..... It worked fine for me,

I had an emergancy section with my daughter and they didn't shave me at all. I guess the area where they made the incision was hair-free so they didn't bother.

Waxing is supposed to be painful when you're pregnant so I'd be tempted to leave it and they'll only shave you if they really need too x

I used Veet cream to remove the top inch or so of hair. It was a bit of a mess as I couldn't see what I was doing - which was why I really didn't want to shave it. Anyway, I didn't do the greatest job and my OH ended up tidying it up a bit with a razor. It was a really romantic way to spend our last evening as a two-some!!
