Due to having GD, I went to the hospital at 8pm on 2/5/13. I was supposed to start cyotec at 8pm, but b/c my cervix was looking good my dr said to hold off on it until 1am. I walked the halls at 9p-11p. I got into the jacuzzi tub(i was super uncomfortable & the nurse said it was ok). 1am the nurse came to start cyotec, i started contracting at 130am. By 4am I was at 5cm and contractions were coming every 2-3 minutes and getting more and more unbearable. I got the epidural at 430am, and attempted to sleep thanks to the epidural. 8am my dr came in to check me, i was at a 6. I got the pitocin started at 11am. They slowly upped the pitocin, and i was 10cm at 630pm. I started pushing at 630pm and lil man came into the world at 805pm. His shoulder got stuck, and he ended up having a fractured clavicle. I had a 4th degree tear also---oh so painful! Preston Philip-Wayne came into this world weighing 9lbs 13oz & 21 1/4 inches long [ on 2/6/13]! big boy!

Oh my, 4th degree tear sounds terrible! I was luck to have only had a 2nd degree tear, my baby was 9lbs 2oz and 22 inches long when he was born. I got admitted at 7 a.m. for the induction and had him at 7:57 p.m. so not long. Where you dilated at all when you went in? You need to post a picture of bubs, how are you feeling? Can you sit?

I didnt even know i tore that bad, until i had asked my dr if i tore. I was only dilated to a 1-1 1/2 when i was admitted..but they didnt even start the cyotec until 1am because my cervix looked really good. I think i posted pictures of him in the february thread? but i'll post some here too!

congrats hun, hope the shoulder heals soon and you recover from the tear.

thank you! he seems to be doing fine! and im healed up!

Congratulations!

I had a fourth degree tear with my second baby. It wasn't pleasant but I healed up just fine and went on to have two other vaginal births.

Enjoy those baby cuddles!
