Preston Stevie or Preston Steven ??

Hi ladies we absolutely love the name Preston we would also like to name our DS2 with my Fathers name as a middle name - but our problem is this, DH has a half brother names Steven which he and the rest of the family don't get on with at all, (ive never met him personally) but due to family problems with him they don't get on, but here is the other problem my Father is named Steven also.....

My DH doesn't mind Steven or Stevie but I know he doesn't get on with his half brother nor does his sister or brothers and mother gets on with him either... So I was thinking to keep things sweet as I think Steven is a very strong middle name in its self but we do like it, we could also consider Stevie.... Preston Stevie (or is Stevie too girly? Does it sound silly?) thanks for all your opinions and advice & most of all for listening lol xx

I'm not sure Preston Steven flows that well, but I like the sentiment it brings. Does your dad have a middle name you could use, to avoid it conflicting with OH's brother?

To me Stevie sounds like a girls name or an incomplete name and Steven really doesn't flow with Preston, sorry!! I agree with PP, maybe your dads middle name or surname if appropriate?

Thanks for replies ladies, I know Steven doesn't flow very well with Preston but it's more the sentiment of what the middle is and means a lot for me to have my fathers name, it doesn't really bother me if it doesn't flow as its only a middle name and won't be used only on paper and forms etc it's more of what the name means more than anything x thanks for replies tho x

I'd go with Steven over stevie. So long as you guys know the sentiment it doesn't matter what others think

I like Preston Stevie better - but only if your dad actually went by "Stevie" as a nickname. Otherwise there wouldn't be any real reason to change it to this.

I don't think it sounds silly or girly. I think it has more character and better flow (even though that doesn't matter to you).

My husbands name is Preston! Good choice! I think Preston Steven flows a lot better than Stevie.
