On Thursday morning, January 23rd at 37weeks, 2 days we had an ultrasound to continue monitoring little Nessa as I had pre term labor from 34 weeks on and GD. Fluid levels were low so off to the hospital we went for induction.
I was dilated to a 3 and about 50% effaced for a couple weeks before and there wasn't any change that day. Went home to grab bags and then to the hospital! I was so excited after several weeks of bleeding and pain with contractions constant.
I think we got pitocin started around noon. . .I asked for an epidural around 3pm because of severe back labor. I honestly had the BEST epidural possible. I was able to feel and move my legs and feet while not feeling contractions at all for a few hours! I did have a blood pressure drop which made me feel very sick but they gave me some epinephrine to bump it back up again.
Around 6pm the doc checked me and I was at a 6 and still feeling great. She bumped the pit one last time. By 7 I was feeling a lot of pressure and pain with the contractions down low. Doc checked me and I was at a 9, with a lip. They set up the room for baby's arrival and checked me again around 7:40, baby was RIGHT there and I was at a 10. I literally pushed for around 2-3 minutes (Started at the beginning of a contraction and she was delivered before the next contraction started), doc did an episiotomy because heart rate was dropping while I pushed and out she came.
7lbs 13oz, 19" long
Her sugars were low from my GD but were back to normal by the following morning.
She's such a miracle! We didn't think I would be able to get pg at this stage without intervention, which we really couldn't afford.
We have been home since Saturday, it's now Wednesday and things are going pretty well. Daddy's first baby and he's just over the moon!
