Would I know if my waters had broke? I know that CM can sometimes be really watery in pregnany but how do you know?! I'm really feeling paranoid about it. I'm having a few twinges but no actual pain (apart from in the top of my back but I think that's just my massive boobs...) and there's definitely no bleeding. I have my anomaly scan on Friday so I should just wait and see I guess.

But yeah, basic question, would I know if my waters had broke?

Generally, yes!

A lot of women get a big whoosh of water and even hear them pop. I didn't hear the pop but when my waters went with both I had a rush of water and knew what it was.

Some women will experience their water leaking, but there are ways of distiguishing leaking water from urine and CM, mostly the colour and smell.

A lot of womens waters don't even break until the baby is literally about to be born.

thanks RachieH, I just didn't know that if at my stage in pregnancy it'd be as noticable. I guess I could be leaking a bit maybe...hopefully not though!

I'm so worried that I'm going to have premature baby. I just want it to stay in there!

Truly hope all is ok! :hugs: I am not experienced in the water breaking situation as I had two C-sections and another planned for this baby.

I was going to Post this exact question today... glad I found yours first. I have been having the same problem, and I also have my scan on Friday... hope all goes well for you, and if it keeps up or you are really worried, just call your doc on Monday. I have read somewhere that amniotic fluid has a sweet smell to it... if that helps.

I had leaking with my 2nd pregnancy and it was constantly leaving me wet, so I had to wear a pad. It was watery as hell, I figured I was either weeing or leaking......so I went to the Doctors, she did a swab and it came back that it was not amnitoic fluid.

If it is this watery, my advice is to ring your MW or GP and take their advice as some people do lose their amnitoic fluid this way........:hugs:x
