Hi there ladies,

I myself have had no problems concieveing which makes this a little harder.

My sister and her OH cannot concieve naturally as he has no sperm count and they have decided on trying to find a donor.

Unfortunately they have had no help from they're local health service and have no idea of the first place to go. They are not exactly flush with money atm as my sister has just been off sick for 6 months after a bad broken leg so need want to find a cheap but safe and effective way to do this - does anyone have any idea's where they can start with all of this??

My sister is getting desperate for a baby now and her biological clock is ticking so to speak so any advice would be greatly appreciated. OR DONORS!! LOL....

as I said before having no problems concieving myself I am not the best person to ask about where to start and we have even spoken about me giving eggs for a problem swap for her if this would help - any clues??

thanks ladies!!

geogem - i'm not sure where you would find donor sperm, but i would think if you looked up a fertility specialist and called, they would be able to tell you how to get in touch with that kind of clinic.
My hubby had a 0 sperm count with his first SA. We are next going to talk to a urologist to see what can be done to fix the issue. What has your sisters hubby done about their situation? Have they determined by further testing that he will never create any sperm? Sometimes, it is something simple that can be done to correct the situation, like medication, hormone supplements, change in lifestyle or eating habits or a quick surgery. If they havent talked to a doctor yet about what their options are to correct this , I would strongly recommend doing that first.

Hi there; my DH also has a zero sperm count; he had an operation a few months ago to try to retrieve sperm but unfortunately there was none to be found.

So we're having IUI treatment with donor sperm which we got from the European Sperm Bank through our fertility clinic. You can go on their website; think its just europeanspermbank.com

It's not really that cheap though, but it's all tested & you can find out lots of stuff about the donors which is pretty good.

Lots of luck to your sister!

You can always ask a friend who's health and history you know. Might be weird for some, not for others. I had a friend do it for a gay female couple we all know and they did a home insemination themselves. Worked like a charm, but like I say, not everyone is ok with that sort of scenario. It's really only up to the people involved...

thanks guys - not really wanting someone they know, my sister isnt bothered but I think my brother ion law has a problem with it - which I understand.

The doctors have told him that there is no chance of him having his own (had an operation that went wrong 20 years ago)

Thanks for the help guys.
