Hi ladies,

i've been bf for nearly a week  but my LO seems to struggle and pull away each time and its a real fight to get him to latch. the midwives have said its not me and told me to try oesteopathy. just wondering if anyone else has seen one and did it make a difference????

Sorry hun no advice as i dont BF but hope you get it sorted soon :hugs:

Try oesteopathy? That's a new one on me hun! What did they tell you to do??

Osteopathy?! I'd be interested to see where that comes in... I think alot of us have had similar problems in the early days hon, you're not alone :hugs:

I have a friend who was advised to try Osteopathy. I looked into it for similar reasons, but decided against it. She has had two sessions so far, but I don't think there was noticeable improvement.

Supposedly cranial Osteopathy is good for relieving the stress that some babies experience. I was told to try it because LO struggled to latch and was very upset at the breast. The first MW really manhandled him and it upset him quite a lot.

Ah!! For your LO not you.....that makes more sense....

At this point I'd bee thinking more about wind or things you might have eaten - more simple things rather than looking for more radical treatments :)

Your letdown could also be either too fast or too slow for him and causing him frustration, and pulling off. It is also an age thing I think. I remember Brenn would do that a lot, but as he got bigger and better at nursing, he stopped.

a friend of mine used the cranal osteopathy thing but her boy was about 3 months i think when she did it? he would only feed from one side and it fixed the problem, something to do with his neck i think?

like others have said hon could be wind? or ur let down? as he is so young im sure it will rectify itself, Fred was sometimes and still can be difficult to get on xxx
