Prometrium - looking for advice

Hi - I'm new to babyandbump and to the infertility scene. My husband and I have been TTC for 15 months and just recently started testing. My blood work results are consistent with PCOS, but I haven't been able to get an HSG yet because (for the first time in this process) my period hasn't come and I'm on day 40 of my cycle AND not pregnant. My doctor wants me to take Prometrium to induce my period, but I'm not big on medication in general, so I'm hesitant to take it and nervous about side effects. I know it may sound silly, since at the very least I have to start on Clomid soon, but I have reservations and keep thinking that my period will come on its own. I would really love to hear from anyone who has taken Prometrium for this reason about their experience and whether they would recommend it. Thanks!
