I really don't know where to post this..

Lylah is breatsfed and supplimented with formula at night, 2 bottles approx.

She is not sleeping through the night, infact she is far from it. She goes 8pm til 3am but at 10pm she has a dream feed so I Imagine if the dreamfeed was dropped she would wake alot earlier. After her feed at 3am she wakes at 6am. Im so flippin' tired, I just want her to sleep. She wakes up ravenous, despite downing 8oz at 10pm, and another 7oz at 3am. Where am I going wrong, surely she cant have anymore than 8oz at 3 months old? :hissy: what is going on ladies. Im fed up of saying how my baby does not sleep through yet and then people reply saying '' well my baby slept through since 6 weeks'' blah blah... uck can you tell im tired lol

Whats your bedtime routine and at what times hun?

its the 3 b's starting at 7.30pm, bath, boob and bed. then at 10pm when we go to bed she has 8oz of formula. I use johnsons 'bedtime' products.
She only has a bath every other night. She also has music played to her every night which makes her fall asleep lol, same music every night and she is also swaddled.

xx

so really she's going 5 hours through the night? Your routine sounds pretty good as it is and similar to ours so no real advice for you there hun sorrrrrry :(

Dw about sleeping through, Brooke only started to at about the age Lylah is now, i know its :hissy: when your soooooo tired and it seems everyone elses baby sleeps like a dream lol

yeah 5 hours from the last feed til 3am. I dont think I have had more than 5 hours straight sleep in 15 weeks, even when matt does the nighshift I still wake up by habit lol!

The only thing you can really do is give her as much as she wants in the day and the evening... Breastmilk is very easily digested which is why some babies take longer to sleep through... of course there are lots of different situations and every baby is different.

Elinor was formula fed and didn't start sleeping through properly until about 5 months

your routine sounds good

you are doing great :):)

:hugs:

your routine does sound great honey, i don't no what to suggest, though i agree with ryder id probably give her as much as she wants during the day. sending you some huge huge :hugs: x x

i was also going to say u could try giving her more milk during the day, formula or BM, it doesnt matter which, if she gets all of her milk in the day, well between getting up and about 10pm she will be more likely to sleep through

x

yep your routine sounds good. all i can suggest is make sure she eats say every 3 hours during the day or as regularly as she wants it x

How about offering an extra feed before bedtime - so if she goes to bed at 8pm then offer her feeds at 4pm and 6pm to really fill her up. Don't want to be the bearer of bad news but my LO has never slept more than 5hrs in a row - ever - and he's 6 months old!! You're due another growth spurt at 4 months so maybe she's hitting it early ?

Hannah was FF and didn't start sleeping through until she was weaned. Trust me I know how frustrating it is to hear of others babies who sleep through when all you want to do is  Your routine sounds good  Hope she starts sleeping through soon

Amelia is the same honey - and she is the Same age, though she is exclusively formula fed now.

She has a feed around 7pm, wakes for another around midnight (i have tried bring this forward to 11 as a dream feed, but it doesn't work for her), she then feeds again around 3 and wakes up at about 6am! I am knackered too and hoping that once weaned she will begin to sleep through!!!

thankyou so so so much everyone! You are all so helpful and made me feel better about it all. I gave her an extra formula feed today at about 4, so we will see how we get on. Because I gave her some formula in replacement for breastmilk, my milk is plentiful this evening so that has knocked her out good and proper after her bath.
fingers crossed :D
xxxxx

Good luck tonight Mel! I started upping Liss's last feed by an oz then she started to sleep through. So hopefully your extra feed will help!

5hrs is technically sleeping through the night :) I know it's hard but she's still young and there isn't much you can do, if she needs the feed she needs it. Don't feel bad though, Casen didn't sleep through until 11mo and Hayden 15mo, and I'm talking waking atleast 2 times for a feed, because they really needed those feeds still All babies are different and when her body is ready she will sleep through

i wouldnt mind if those 5 hours were a bit later in the night, im starting to lothe 3am lol
I lothe 2am even more!
xx

I'd give her the formula for her last 2 feeds before bedtime, then BF in the night if she needs it

Thats a good idea. I'll give that a shot! I havent tried bf during the night since she was 3 days old.
:hugs:

I tried supplementing Kai but it didn't work. He goes down at about 8:30pm, then feeds at about 11pm, then it seems to be every 2 or three hours after that! I thought formula was supposed to fill them up for a bit longer? I gave up and went back to BF'ing. Ugh, I'm tired too :(
