Hi Everyone.

A couple of weeks ago I met with my RE and he said that he wanted to start clomid on my next cycle. He says my investigative cycles show that I don't ovulate. I do have long cycles and they never did any testing after cd14. My cycles can be between 32-38 days. I also had an HSG test last cycle as well.

I never go longer than 38 days but he said he wanted me to take provera anyway to jump start everything. Well I've taken it and finished about a week ago and no af. I will be at cd38 tomorrow and I have none of my regular symptoms. Part of me told myself not to take the provera and just wait but I did what he said too.

Now I'm afraid that I've messed my body up even more or even that I maybe did ovulate this last cycle and they missed it since they didn't test past cd14 and got a sticky egg. I really hope if thats the case there is not many effects from the provera.

Has anyone else been through this or anything similar?

Hi... Have you done any pregnancy tests? I just got back from my doctor today who wants me to start Provera so I've been researching it. I don't mean to scare you but this is what I read on WebMD:

This medication must not be used during pregnancy because it may harm an unborn baby, especially during the first 4 months of pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately.

My doctor also told me that AF is supposed to come 2-3 days after stopping Provera so if you've finished a week ago I would definitely go see your doctor again.

Thank you! I just looked it up as well and I'm going to take a pregnancy test in the morning and call my RE.

So what were the results of the pregnancy test?? What did your RE say?

Test came back negative. I have to go in for blood work tomorrow but I did start cramping and spotting today. I just want this cycle to start so I can get going with clomid. Fingers are crossed!

I've read that Provera can take up to 2 weeks to work. The first time I took it I think it was about 7 days or so before AF showed up.

worked quickly for us less than 5 days was told more than 7 days to contact infertility department.

best of luck on clomid

Blood test today showed BFN. Still spotting but a heavy spotting if that makes sense. They said that I should go in on day 3 for blood and US. I wonder how I should tell what day 3 is for me, this cycle has been so weird.

sorry to hear hun but good you can start clomid, my doc said third day since the first blood was the 3rd day

AF has arrived. I never thought I would be so happy to see it. I'm going in on Monday for Blood and U/S. Can't wait to start the next phase. This month is Clomid and hopefully thats it but if not we are deciding between IUI and IVF

best of luck hun hope clomid works for you

I had that and it turned out I was pregnant, but it wasn't showing up on the pregnancy tests because I'm irregular. It doesn't hurt the baby in fact it helps with implantation. :) good luck!!!

I was really hoping that I would get my BFP, I read that they use Provera to help with implantation as well but no luck. One more day of clomid and then I go in on Monday to see where my follies are at. Turns out we are doing back to back IUI this month as well. Dr said he doesn't think clomid alone is enough due to my DH s/a. Trying to get as much information as I can, I have no idea what to expect.

I'm currently waiting for AF to show up too. My last dose of Provera was on 05/02 and I've been having slight cramping for the past two days, but nada. I've been diagnosed with PCOS and my cycles have always been long. Today is CD# 51. They've never been this long...ever. I hate waiting for something to happen. Argh.

Jeni82 - I'm in a pretty similar situation as you were. Luckly AF showed up. Keep us posted on how the Clomid works. :)

I haven't heard that about implantation and provera. That's interesting. Hopefully that's the reason I'm in "limbo" right now. :)
