I know a puffy/swollen face is a sign of pre-eclamsia. Have been to the midwife/GP/Dentist and have had everything ruled out. Doctor says i have water retention affecting one side of my face and causes my eye to water too. Its comes and goes throughout the day.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this and what methods can you use to get rid of it? My hands and feet sometimes swell aswell but thats easily taken care of by putting my feet up.

Cannot wait untill i have my baby and can feel like a 'normal' person again lol

Any advice welcome :flower:

sorry babes, i had verry swollen feet/hands face but didnt have pre eclampsia... and it didnt go away til i had him at 38 weeks and it was gone overnight!

Great, I'm already eager to give birth but now i'm gonna be even more impatient lol. Nice to know it goes quickly though :flower:

mine is like that my face is huge and my hand are a show also my feet look disgusting im only a sz 3 and coz there so swelled they look so bad but the midwife didnt seem bothered one bit she just said ohhh everyone gets like that but there just gettin bigger x

I don't have preeclampsia and I've started swelling in my legs...

I've had swollen feet, ankles, legs and face for the last 5 weeks. Nothing wrong on medical side and there is nothing I can do about face. Legs and feet slightly better if exercise to get blood pumping or put them up for a bit. My face tends to be worse in the mornings. Wish there was a cure......but apparently birth is the only one! :hugs:

My face, hands, feet and ankles are also swollen now. Blood pressure and all are just fine. Just super puffy. :hugs:

I only get puffy eyes in the morning sometimes. I usually find this is worse when I haven't drunk enough fluids.

Are you active? (I mean busy and/or walking around alot?) Being active might help if it's a circulation issue.

Cx

Hope you

my feet have begun to swell pretty badly in the last wee or so (i'm 32 weeks + 5 days) and am going to talk to my CNM Monday @ my next appt. about it, b/c my shoes are getting too tight. I already elevate my feet when I sit at work, and tried elevating then while I slept last night, too. I already have been sleeping on my left side and drinking a ton of water. No swelling in the face, though, so I'm not overly worried. Going to ask about compression garments

My face is super puffy... my fingers are like sausages, and my legs/ankles/feet are definitely swollen. I am super active, so I think I am putting too much pressure on my body. I'm a size 0/1, but I have gained several pounds... My body is not used to so much pressure. I think by 35 weeks a lot of us are experiencing swelling somewhere... if not everywhere!
