Have been weaning LO with pureed fruit and veg atm and he loves it and really getting the hang of eating from a spoon and chewing. He's just turnt 5 months.

Just wonderd when i can start setting aside a small portion of our own dinner and blending it up for him.

Spag Bol, Lasagna, Roast dinners, sausage and mash, pasta ect. Are there things they cant eat early on and also what about added spices. I thought they were supposed to have bland foods but have recently read differently that its ok to add spices and flavours to baby foods.

I'll keep jars in the house for when we eat things LO cant or keep some purred things he can eat in the freezer. Are there any restrictions at all?

hi hun. Once lo reaches 6 months you can expand their diet to include meat/fish wheat and dairy. So yes, spag bol etc mashed up will be fine. Just don't add salt until you've taken lo's portion out. Other seasonings like herbs and spices are fine although prob best to hold off on the chilli powder! My lo likes the stronger flavours... we had fish pie tonight with loads of lemon, dill and herby mash! Sausage and baked beans is another fave! Hth Jx

Yeah I'd wait til 6 months before giving meat etc and no salt but I'm sure mild spices and herbs are fine. My LO will prob love spicy food as I ate so much of it when preggers :) he's 5.5 months now so can't wait to expand his diet & tastebuds at 6 months
