I don't think of DS as being particular heavy, but I've just discovered that technically he has outgrown the single pushchairs we have as he's over 15kg. All the usual pushchairs/strollers that are apparently suitable for up to 3 years olds only have a 15kg weight limit! Surely LOADS of toddlers get to 15kg waaaaay before this? My son isn't exactly massive (he's tall but v skinny) but he's been over 15kg since he was about 18 months old!

What does everyone else do? Do you just ignore the weight limit and carry on using them, or buy another one? There are plenty available (mostly 3 wheeler types like Mountain Buggy, Phil n Teds, Nipper etc) but they are all ones that take up loads of room when folded, whereas the littler stroller I have been using is a lovely little umbrella fold one that you can just chuck in your boot and still have room for other things.

Are there any compact pushchairs suitable for 15kg+ ? Do I just have a ridiculously heavy child?!

ruby was 15kg at 3. i mostly stopped using the push chair then anyway, but i did sometimes ignore the weight limit and use it if i had to walk somewhere when she was v tired or something. i used a quinny zapp for her and the seat is plenty big enough for her.

My lbs 15.1kgs at 18 months. Were using a veta zoom (sp). It takes a push to get going but feels fine to push. We're not buying a new 1, hopefully

Their weight gain slows down at 2+. Omar is 16.5 kgs & we still use the pushchairs with no problems. Their weight limit is 15 kgs. My cousins's daughter who's 3 yrs is 18 kgs & she still uses a small pushchair with a 15 kgs weight limit.

I also load the pushchair with shopping bags, my handbag & his bag. Never had issues other than squeaking from time to time although he was over the weight limit since he was 2 yrs xx

Depends on the pushchair really. If you can push it comfortably then I wouldn't change. Some strollers become impossible as they grow but I never changed mine.

Look at a baby jogger city mini, they have been tested to a much higher weight limit in America and folds very flat. The seat is taller than most other prams so perfect for toddlers

In the UK most buggies are only tested to 15kg but are fine after that.

My son was 15kg way before he was able to walk long distances. We just got a sturdy buggy and used that. We actually got a mamas and papas Aria and we had two of those and they've been really good. Even the one that Esther has at the moment - a coochie i think it is - would of been fine when Daniel still needed a buggy.

We have the maclaren volo, which also has a 15kg weight limit. I completely ignore this recommendation after seeing a 4 year old being pushed around in it with no issues.
