Ok I have a concern!

Through pregnancy AND after Caitlin I have 'never' leaked not one bit! Now Caitlin wouldn't go on my breast at the hospital after she was born and I was stressed & she was down as stressed a bit - basically the staff suggested I gave her a bottle that was best.

I tried when we were home but she screamed like I was barmy wasn't interested at all!

Back in the earlier weeks I mentioned this to MW or HV (forgot which) and because I'd had no show of any milk they basically said that above the fact we already had to change (higher) her teats it probably wouldn have been VERY difficult but the leaking would come?????

Hasn't! What does this say? Does it mean I had no milk? Anyone else experience this?

Never had no milk hun, so dunno
Did your boobs get full though, feel like they were gonna explode at the slightest breeze?

It would have come and gone by now hun with bottle feeding, it usualy only last a couple of weeks ( i think, have slept since then!)

If you are really worried i would maybe mantion it to HV again if you venture back there soon x

Nope! Nout :(

Aww chicken :(
I've never come across not having milk come in, did you have any leakage before she was born?
I know i should know this and i'm srry for asking but i am a real numbnuts tonight, where you on any meds that could have affected it?

No leaks through pregnancy or after ... not a bit, never needed to use a single breast pad!

Wasn't on any meds either :D

I'm afraid I am probably going to be the same way. My boobs haven't gotten any bigger since the first trimester when they went up one size. I haven't leaked and they haven't been sore or anything.
I dont know though, because no body in my family has ever breastfed. And my uncle's wife couldn't BF because her milk would never come in/she didn't have enough.
So, I guess for me it's a waiting game to see.

Alot of women are unable to BF though. You could try mentioning it to your doctor again. But if not, it probably is just best to keep her on the bottle.
Good luck! :hugs:

Wobbles, its a shame you didnt get better support in the hospital if you wanted to breastfeed. Unfortunately a lot of staff in the medical profession have very limited breastfeeding knowledge hence why its often recommended to speak to a breast feeding councellor from one of the specialist organisations or some hospitals have a bfing coordinator.

Usually its the delivery of the placenta that kick starts the milk production but some women who adopt kids have breastfed so it's also really important to have a suckling baby to stimulate your milk.

In short, you might not have had milk but from latest stats that is only less than 2% of women. So dont worry about it if you werent bothered about feeding but if you do want to next time speak to the organisations before so you've got specialist help ready for when you need it.

I didn't leak in either of my pregnancies either.

There was trouble delivering the placenta could that be another reason then? I did want to if only for fist vitel weeks or try but I couldn't understand why she was not interested & yer as you say had no idea what I was doing!

No it's just when the placenta comes away that triggers the milk, maybe like your body saying that there's no means of feeding the baby now in your tummy so you'll need to get the food out someother way (through your boobs!) I had a section so they just took mine out rather than it being delivered.

I totally relate to what you went through. With Olivia I had no idea what I should be doing, when I should try to feed her , how often, what to look for, how to do it etc. That's why it's vital these MWs have good training so they can give you the direction and help you need (if you want it).
