Hi Everyone-
I am 36 and wanted to see what others results were with quad screen. I am awaiting my results and just read that at 35 and over you can't get better than 1:400 odds for down syndrome. Is this true? My first trimester screenign with blood and NT came back at 1:1000. Has anyone over 35 had integrated screening and still gotten good numbers after the triple/quad screen? I didn't realize that age played such a huge factor in the calculations!! Thanks!

I am 35 received a 1:23 for downs syndrome - i was devastated - then did the level 2 US - came back with no marklers so i declined the amnio - as its to evasive - the dr told me w/out the amnio i cant be 100% sure but i was happy enough with the US - good luck!

At the age of 36, I also received a 1:23, and like you declined the amnio. My son was fine, thought it was of course a scary time. I am much older with this pregnancy, and got a lower risk this time which was surprising. We again decided against an amnio for fear of "creating" a problem. So far, no markers and all looks good.

I wish I had done all of my "baby making" at an earlier age because of all this worry. But I think I would have been a worrier at any age!

Congrats on no markers! I have my 22 week scan in about 4 weeks and am hoping for the same. My bloods surprisingly came out normal. i know three people, the only three who were tested, who got a false positive. I think i am going to skip that test next time around!
