Quad Screening

Hello Ladies,

Around 12 weeks I did the NIPT test and everything came back negative. At 16 weeks my OB had me do the Quad screening and the AFP MoM came back slightly elevated resulting in a positive screening. Its calculating a 1 in 208 risk of my baby having a neural tube defect. I am freaking out. My OB said that it is only slightly high but did refer me to a specialists to do a level II ultrasound. Has anyone ever experienced this?

I thought the same thing.. And of course now all I have done is worry for the last two weeks since I got my results because they didnt want to do the ultrasound before 19 weeks.

They looked at everything pretty detailed and the brain, heart and spine (from what they could see) all looked good. She wasn't cooperating very well so they couldn't get all the spine pictures they wanted to. So just to be safe they want me to come back in 4 weeks. But they didn't see any cause for concern for any neural tube defects at least no major ones. I am soooo thankful and can breath a little easier!
