I had my anatomy scan at 20w6d (so i'm considering it 21w) and the ultrasound tech said she was weighing 15 oz. So one ounce short of a lb!
..On the "average" charts i've noticed that at 21 weeks it says 12 oz and not until 23 weeks would she be 1 lb.

I know that not all babys are average! lol, that's not my question, my question is, could she maybe be growing at a faster rate, and make her actually a week or so further along than i think? I do not remember if she measured her length.. she didn't tell me anything about it.

im not sure to be honest i just didnt want to read and run ... i didnt pay attention to any of that with my first and now i wish i had lol

I had a scan at 20 weeks and my little girl weighed 14 oz. We met with the doctor afterwards and didn't say anything about being worried about the weight or anything so I figure it's OK. I'm sure they would have mentioned it if it was something to worry about.

the doctors would say if something was wrong. like you said not all babies are average, its only a few ounces, i am sure everything is fine!

Mine was I think 18oz which is over a pound at 20 weeks lol the doctor wasnt too concerned at this point, but also theyve been notoriously wrong on weight.

Mine at 20+5 was 13 ounces, and they said she was measuring under what she should be...

Well this time at exactly 21 weeks baby was 14oz. It isn't all that accurate though so don't worry. My first baby was 15oz and she was born 6lb! 3 weeks early so doesn't mean hell of a lot!

at 21 weeks bang on my baby was 15oz and i was told measuring 5 days behind. I didnt get told a weight at my 28 week scan but will be asking at my 32 week one. Like pp said though they can be very very wrong... or at least thats my experience. They were over 2lb out with ds1 with me.. so the measurements they are taking this time i am looking at with a pinch of salt. xx

remember, when the doctors tell you how much the baby currently weighs, it's an estimate. there's no concrete, foolproof way to find out how much your baby weighs until he/she is born. my baby "weighed" 1lb 1 oz at 21 weeks, 4 days. doctor said it was normal, but that to remember that it was an educated guess.

so don't worry!

our baby was 403g so nearly 13 oz at 21+4 day scan, so again nearly a lb! its all good and normal xxx

My baby measured 11 oz at my 20 week scan. If something was wrong they would tell you.

At 23 weeks mine was 1.5 pounds, however weight is estimated, it could be more or it could be less. My daughter in her 38 weeks ultrasound has an estimated birth weight of 8.5 pounds and she was born with 7 pounds...and a friend's baby measured 7.5 pounds and was born with almost 9 pounds...so it's not exact science.

I'm in the same both as you. DD measured 13 oz at 19 +2 and was big at her 12 week scan as well so I grilled the doctor last week at my regular check up. He said, indeed, she is measuring about 5 days ahead of schedule but anything up to ten days fluctuation is normal and not enough to change your edd. He also said, if you put 30 one year olds in a room who were exactly the same age, they would all be different sizes. It's just the way it is- people are all different sizes. Since then, I've started calling my baby little beefcake. :)

My son weighed 1 lb. exactly at 21w2d. He was born at 38+5 weighing 7 lbs., 13 oz. I wouldn't worry at all. She could have JUST had a growth spurt, or she could be my son's size, which was just SLIGHTly above average.

At 22 weeks and 3 days baby A measured 1lb 3 oz and was 2 days ahead and baby B was measuring 14 oz and meauring a week behind. Both within normal ranges though.
