Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind me asking a question in this section. I've been stalking this section for a while now :) I am close to hitting the 1 yr mark and I was thinking of taking an appointment with the doc. My question was, is it better to seek help from a gynaec first or do you go directly to the FS? I live in the US. I was wondering how you all approached this situation?

Thanks a ton for your help:flower:

Any lovely ladies who can give me some advice? Thankzzzz!

Personally, I went to the GYN Dr. first to get myself checked for anything they may find. And then they did a SA on my husband, then we were referred to a FS.

Good luck!

I am not sure how it is in the US....but in Canada the only way to see an FS is to be referred.....so you should probably go see your GYN first.

Also they may be able to help without needing an FS

I live in Germany, so I'm unfamiliar with the situation in the U.S.

I would say, if you're covered by insurance and you can go to the FS for "free", then go straight to the FS. They are the specialist and you would save yourself the time and effort running to different specialists (eg. gynae / endocrinologist- if you have to).

If you're not covered by insurance for the FS, then go to yr gynae first...she can run bloodtests on you to see if you need any medication or diagnose your issues.
