Question about opk's and dpo's

When you track ovulation with opk's, do you count O day as the day with the darkest test or the day after?

I don't use them but I am curious...

I guess it is not possible to track O, only by using opk. After you get your +opk, you are supposed to O in next 12 - 72 hours. Many use BBT along with opk to guess the date and count dpo. This is my first month doing opk, I got my surge for two days this month, 23rd and 24th March. Perhaps someone more experienced can say more on this.
