I wonder if anyone has used or using sterilising fluid. I recently managed to melt my TT microwave steriliser (for my breast pump) just forgot to add water :dohh:. I had in cupboard a bottle of Milton sterilising liquid. I prepped a water as instructed it did smell of bleach and I still think that it cannot possibly good..... My other question is can I use same water again after I sterilize something in there or I have to prep new one if I need to use it again. Also I would love to hear you views about the sterilising fluid?

thanks for any replies/opinions

I use Milton to sterilise soothers and did use it to do bottles when my microwave was on the blink. As long as you use the correct dilation its fine to use. I used new fluid every time just to make sure but I dont kniow if you have to.

I don't know if this is helpful but I use the Milton tablets. I stick one in clean water once per day and it can be used throughout the day.
I'd assume the fluid was the same as it must be the same stuff!

i only use a cold water steriliser with either milton fluid or tablets (whichever i can get at the shops) you dont need to change it every time, the reccomended guidelines say dont leave it any longer than 24 hours, and in this time you can take things in and out of it.
it will still smell of bleach but as long as you dilute it as it says on the bottle it will be fine - i have a 5L tank which uses 2 1/5 caps of liquid or one tablet. i have found that the tablets do smell less though if thats an issue for you.

also you may find that your LO might not like the taste so i just dip max's dummies in gripe water to get rid of the taste for him :) x hope this helps hun
