question about the cost of infertility.

I have been ttc for about 14 months now, with one miscarriage. I'm fixing to start the blood work and sperm analiyst, and talk about options.
I have been googling cost, and i've found that one round of IUI is 12,000 and the others are even more! How can someone afford this?

The cost of IUI's can range anywhere from $1500 upward of $5000. I have never heard of it being any more than that.

The reason for the range is dependant on how much medication you require ie:injectibles. This month for me was about $2000ish but that included an HSG which I will not need to do next month.

Now if you have 3 unsuccessful IUI's the doctor may reccommend IVF, that starts around the number you referenced.
