Hey girls...so I think we are going to be moving very soon, but the place I'm looking at renting has well water. Right now we are on city water, soooo...where Haley is FF, I'm curious to know if its okay to mix her formula from the tap or should I buy bottled water to mix her formula with? I've read that boiling well water could contaminate it even more, but the landlord said today that it has been tested and is fine and several other babies have lived there before and had no problems with their formula...any ideas?

Personally I would use bottled water, I am very paranoid when it comes to the water I use for my daughters formula. We live in a big city and have been told the water here is fine by the doctor and I still choose to use bottled water because A. Like i said I'm paranoid and B. It makes it easier for me because I don't have to boil it(using concentrate formula so I don't have to worry about contaminating it).

In all the books that I've read, they've always said to use purified water(bottled water) and not tap water. I usually just buy the baby water from the store and use that. It's not that expensive so I don't mind. They say not to use tap water because of the minerals in it and every water district is different with how much of each mineral is in it. The water in my water district has very bad reviews and has low ratings.

My inlaws live in a farm and use well water, we always carry our water when we go there.

Everyone I know just uses water from the tap back home. (I'm from the country so it's all well water except in town obviously) But if I were in that position, I'd probably buy the stuff at the store. I mean it's like 89 cents per gallon last I saw and at least you know what's in it for sure IYKWIM. I wouldn't trust the word of some random landlord. :flower:

I was curious, bc now I use our tap water cold and then I heat it, bc if there is lead in the lines that it can concentrate it (I think the same about nitrates too)...but I have no clue when it comes to well water, all she said is it was tested and is fine, that there is no softener to it, and her hubby installed an arbitrator (i think thats what she said) which helps filter out even more bacteria...she said I could use a PUR water filter if I wanted to but she's never had any issues in the past.

ETA--and I'm a little concerned where she's used to city water, would the change make her sick?

We have well water so we use nursery water. This week we went out of town and Carter had tap water from three different cities. The changes did not make him sick. If you are worried though you could always fill up a couple of jugs with your current water and take it with you to your new house so that you could slowly add the nursery water IYKWIM.

We have well water but were advised not to use it, we used bottled water and boiled it, then left it to cool.

Try and find the 'purest' bottled water too...and the clearer the bottle the better! xx
