Hi ladies,

I've recently discovered baby wearing and my very first wrap is in the post as we speak.

My question is..... Max is only 4lb11oz atm and being a preemie I'll be wrapping him in his natural position tummy to tummy with knees up. I've ordered a standard fabric as opposed to a thicker winter fabric.... How should up be dressing baby during these winter months when wrapped out doors??

I'm pretty warm blooded and usually wear nothing more than a cardigan. I'm worried he'll either be too cold, or I'm going to make him over heat.

Thanks in advance :) x

When Thomas was smaller I wore him with a sleepsuit, thick cardigan, hat, mitts and took a blanket just in case. With a sling and them lying across you it's easy just to drape over.

Not sure how cold it gets there so I'm not sure if I'll be much help. With my LO I usually wear her with my coat over, so she is just in a sleep suit and warm hat. If I'm not in my babywearing coat then I'll put her in a sleep suit and snow suit and hat over top. It was -32 C today though. I am using a wrap carrier so she is upright. xx

Lately when I have been wearing my girl.. she has on her regular clothes and a snow suit on top with a decent hat. I wear her under my jacket so that if I need to I can take my coat off otherwise we both get too hot.

Thanks so much for replying. Defo think I'll have to go for the snow suit option as there's no way I'll get us both under my coat lol x

You can also put a warm blnket over baby and wrap. My baby tends to get hot easily so i can jusy take the blanket off then :flower:

i couldnt put my son in a snow suit, he would overheat. I usually put him in a vest, babygrow, pair of trousers that have feet in them and a top and a cardigan or coat and a hat. usually he ends us in just a coat as he gets too hot with a cardi as well.

oh an booties, and wear whatever i would normally wear, but cant do my coat up.

Definitely depends on the weather there and how warm your baby gets. Try a few different option and see what works. Here there is no way you can babywear without a snow suit because it gets so dang cold! lol

thats in canada thought, its been too warm here all winter for my ds to wear his snowsuit. there was only 1 day we used it and thats because he was in a pram not beign carried

Oh I wish!! Dreaming about some nice mild winter weather - aahh... I don't even want to set foot outside the way it is now :haha:
