Which bottle would you say is best for a strictly bottle/ff baby?

Nearly every bottle these days claims to be "breast-like" and helps with switching between breast and bottle. But what if this feature is irrelivant?

I have a couple of Dr Brown ones incase of bad colic but I would prefer to start off with something simpler. xx

hey, we used AVENT as they had an anti colic ring around the bottles to stop the air bubbles getting into babies mouth when she was sucking but we found the avent teats were very slow in flow and used MAM silicone teats as they were closest to nipple and faster flowing which she liked as she was getting too tired from sucking on the avent teats as not enough milk was coming out and she got tired and started crying then sleeping. So yeah AVENT bottles with mam teats suit us. Tommee tippee teats are silicone and fast flow too but by the time we tried them our little girl was already used to AVENT bottles and cried when we tried to use tommee tippee so i choose avent :D

We used MAM briefly but the bottles leaked - the teats were nice though.

For me, I just go for a simple bottle and teat. With Earl I used Mothercare own, and with Eddy we use Boots own. I always use wide neck bottles as they're easier to clean and give them a bigger area to latch onto.

It's a bit like learning to use a dummy for them though - they have to learn the most efficient way to suck it.

I've used Tommee Tippee closer to nature since day four.. For the first 4 days he was in hospital and the teats with a small base (iykwim) were awful, he opened his mouth far too much for the teat, TT have a big base on the teat so it's much easier for LO :) And they have anti-colic valves in case you're worried about that :flower:

yeah this is annoying, seems another way they are trying to force bfing on people. what if some dont breastfeed, we wont need a nipple shaped teat lol sorry rant over.

I ff dd1 from birth used tommee tippee
i ff ds from 5days old use tommee tippee :)

I use Dr.Brown's wide and narrow neck. Love them and had no problems:)

With have been useing Tommee Tippee closer to nature bottels from the off.

I have used avent, found the anti colic rings really helpful :)

Hey

There are 2 thinks putting me off avent:

1. The fact that the 9oz bottles come with size 2 (slow flow) teats and not size 1 (newborn) teats. If I were to use Avent from birth I would either have to buy 6x 4oz bottles to use from birth aswell as 6x 9oz bottles to use from a few weeks old or have to buy 6x size 1 teats awell as the 6x 9oz bottles, which is an extra expense, especially as the size 1 teats are recommended for use up to 1 month, whereas most other brands first size teats are recommended to use up to 3 months (although I know alot of babies move up sooner than this).

2. The fact that I have heard alot of parents who use Avent have had trouble with leaking, especially with the bottles that have the anti-colic ring.

xxx

We also used the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature with the valve. Love them and my LO did great with them.

I've used dr brown from about 1 week and really like them. Before that I was using avent anti colic but she was a nightmare to wind and I was petrified she was going to get colic so switched over x
