I have polycystic ovaries. But I'm not sure how much of it I have, since I'm not overweight and my period is quite regular.

My question is, if I use the ovulation predictor kits or clear blue, and it says I'm ovulating, does that mean there's always an egg that's ready to be fertilized?

Or does that mean (since I have polycystic ovaries), that even though it says I'm ovulating, that there's a chance there's no egg released?

Thanks.

It means that even though it may say you are ovulating, you may not actually be. PCOS tends to cause falsa positives on the test because PCOS causes high levels of LH even at times when you aren't ovulating.

If you are having regular periods and your ovulation tests are showing positives only one time during your cycle, then chances are that you are ovulating normally.

Data can always be a bit sketchy with women who have irregular periods and pcos. Seeing as you are fairly regular and the positive comes around the middle of your cycle (work 14 days backwards from period to see the middle point) then I have no reason to believe that you are not ovulating.

The positive tells you that you are due to ovulate. So basically it detects the LH surge in a follicle that is about to erupt and produce an egg which will meet sperm in your Fallopian tube (when you have sex and up to 5 days after) and fertilises.

Your fertile window is about 12-48 hours after your first positive opk. Even if you had sex the day before the positive, you could conceive

You could start chartig your BBT which will give you a good indication to whether you have ovulated or not x
