Hope someone can advise me. I have recently made the move from mixed feeding to completely formula feeding Thomas. For his first 4 and a half months he was solely breastfed and I always fed on demand. When I started giving him the odd bottle I just made the bottle the amount that was recommended on the side of the formula tub. (7oz)

Now that he is completely formula fed, I am still making each bottle 7oz but rather than the recommended 5 per day he is routinely taking 6 - i.e. a total of 42oz per day.

Is this too much? Should I try to feed him less?

NB. He has always been a big hungry baby! 9lb born and around 20lb now. The formula we are using is Aptamil Hungry Baby.

just give him what he wants hun, ignore what it says on the box :)

when lo starts to drain the bottle you just add another ounce

Thanks for the reassurance! Do you ever just feel like life with a baby is just replacing one worry with another?! While I was BF'ing I worried about how often he wanted to feed, now I worry about how much he takes in each feed, and don't even get me started about my weaning worries!!!

yeah i know what you mean, but Lana is my 3rd so i am a lot more relaxed anbout things - when i thnk back to when Leah was born i was a total freak, i worried if she sneezed

Just continue to give what he wants - if he is taking the milk then thats great!

My Anna only takes max of 25oz a day - she has been on that amount since she was about 3 months! Yet, there are no weight problems!:flower:
