My 18 week old has started teething for the past couple of weeks. He isnt in severe pain, he mainly gets frustrated and some feeds have been difficult so have been giving him Ashton and parsons on particularly bad days. He had a half powder yesterday morning and evening and again this morning. The packaging does say to consult a doctor after 5 days if symptoms persist but from what I hear he will be teething for months! Does anyone use A&P fairly regularly and find it safe to do so?

I also have Bonjela though the HV told my partner not to use that and stick with the powder, perhaps since he hasnt been crying or screaming with pain.

I think the consult doctor thing is incase LO has an ear infection as the symptoms are similar :)
I put Dentinox Gel on Ethan's gums before he feeds - I smear some on my finger and really rub it in, making sure my finger stays in his mouth for a while so that he doesn't lick the gel off. This works a treat, and numbs his gums enough for him to enjoy his bottle x

Also, Ashtons & Parsons is herbal so you can use that and the gel, it's fine :)

I used Ashton & Parsons with my son when he was younger, and I still use it occasionally now with his last few teeth. It really does seem to calm him down quite well when his teeth are playing him up x

you'll be fine to keep using them, don't worry. I think it's more if you're not sure it's teething you'll need to see a doc, but if the powders help, keep on with it.

we use them, and also boots own brand teething gel

I used them and they were a godsend and am away to buy another pack because I think he is getting more teeth.

I also used teething gel. Like others have said I put a drop on my finger and rubbed in before putting on his gums. The concern with teething gel is if they swallow lump of it it will numb their throat.

Good luck, as it's not an easy time when they are teething sometimes

Thanks everyone, I think I still havent seen the worst of the teething yet but the powders are doing their job for now.

we call it the 'magic powder' in our house...calms her down almost instantly, its amazing!

Iv given it to her for the past month and shes fine! Think its just mean if symptoms other than teething persist...dont think every baby teethes for 5 days :winkwink:
