Hi Ladies,
I haven't written in a while because I've been busy with my Rayna!
I wanted to tell you all about my amazing birth experience. As well, tell you that, at my baby shower, I had made a joke about a birthing show I watched where the lady basically sneezed and her baby came out... then everyone laughed and said "That will not happen"......
It began at about 9am on March 20th. I went in and got a gel induction started, my Husband was with me, and my Sister(Bonnie) was going to be coming down once she was done work. I laid in the hospital bed for about an hour and then was sent home to let it kick in.
I was in no pain but super nervous and play "What-If's" for the whole afternoon.
When my sister got here, we all went for an awesome lunch at our favourite place then went walking through a few stores to kill time.
We went to the hospital(about 4PM) and I got checked out. I was at 3CM dialation.
Before I talk about the birth, I'd like to add that we found out(after the birth) that out Dr had explained to the nurses that I was going to be a "bad" patient because I have NO pain tolerance at all and I am dramatic as well.![Shrugg  ](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/srug.gif)
I felt contrations, but they weren't painful. I kept getting checked, but never went past 3CM. At this time we noticed one poor lady who had been there since early in the morning and she was screaming bloody murder and I was getting worried that that would be me shortly.
I was relaxing and having a good time, eating licorice and enjoying myself. Each time a contraction came, I would shut my eyes and think happy thoughts, still not painful. Eventually, they became a bit more painful, but totally livable. Then the bitchiness kiked in, no one could say or do anything right and I got angry at Hubby and Sister for talking, not talking, breathing too loud.. then I snapped thinking that they were texting each other.. lol![Thumb up  ](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/good.gif)
I then got uncomfortable(about 8pm), back pains.. but still bearable. The nurse injected me with Gravol and morphine(a tiny bit) which took the edge off.
I, all of a sudden, felt the UNBELIEVEABLE urge to push.. I assumed I had to poop, because I never knew this feeling before. I kept going into the washroom and kept pushing, which felt amazingly good. I got up off the toilet(8:45PM), and I felt "something" like pressure in between my legs. I called to my husband(who hadn't left my side the whole time, except when I was in the washroom) "I'm having a situation in here" and the nurses came running in. They tried to get me to leave the room and go across the hall with no pants on!!!!
I wasn't having it. I kept explaining that I was NOT leaving without my pants pulled up. They finally pulled my pants up and I was in the birthing bed. Nurse checked me, I was at 10CM and I ouldn't stop pushing!!! Dr wasn't in the hospital because they assumed that I would be past midnight, at least. Nurse left the room for 30 seconds, and Hubby and Sis were begging me not to push. Nurse walked in the room, and I PUSHED, then pushed once more... RAYNA WAS HERE(5.5)!! No pain, no epidural!!!! 9:05PM
About 2 minutes later Dr ran in and threw his coat, then realized she was already here. Rich cut the cord( He said it made him feel like a Dad, AND he was super against doing it at first)
He then got the placenta out, and then put on a "Dexter" style smock on, and came at my vag-jay-jay with the biggest needle I've ever seen and I asked where the heck it was going?!?!?!?! and he laughed and handed me my glorious baby while he stitched up "Frankenvagina".
By 9:30 I was in my bed with my baby girl.
It was an amazing experiance and no one could have been prouder of me for doing it completely natural with my "history" of pain tolerance.
Rayna is the best baby, and she is beyond gorgeous! She's the spitting image of her Daddy and has so many mannerisms that we have. She sleeps with her arms straight in the air like I do, sneezes, yawns, stretches, and laughs like Daddy. She couldn't be more perfect and we don't know how life was before her.
Well, there is my story. I hope it'll work out like this for everyone else!!!!!
