Posted this in third tri but thought i would ask in here and see if any ladies with pre exlamsia could give me advise?

I went to an appointment yesterday and they mentioned that something in your bloods needs to be 0.35 and its classed as pre eclamsia and that in october mine was 0.31 so i was onthe higher side edging towards it!!!!! and on 11th november i was meant to have a set of bloods taken and guess what? they only noticed yesterday when i have been in every two weeks!!!

So got my bloods done and seeing someone friday to discuss the results.

Someone mentioned some of her symptoms with pre eclamsia ie swollen ankles (tick) swollen hands (tick) being sick (tick) pain under ribs (tick) the pain i have is like fire under my right rib! oh and i had ++protien in my urine last week at a normal antenatal app!

I am quite annoyed to be honest as i dont feel like that have bothered about this!!

With my first daughter I had a similar situation, at my 34 week check I complained of extreme swelling, headaches and slight nausea, my bp was raised but the dr basically said I was imagining it and to come back in 2 weeks. 1 week later and im at home feeling steadily worse, throwing up, blurred vision, extreme right under rib pain, in the end I go to A and E and the same day im diagnosed with HELLP syndrome my liver is failing and my bp is sky high. My baby needed help to breathe at birth and I ended up with postpartum eclampsia, and a bleeding disorder.
So if this was me I would get me straight back to that dr!
I dont want to scare you with this, this is just my story, but its also better to be safe than sorry!:flower:

i had pre eclampsia with my first child and it was a nightmare. i had all the symptoms/signs but nobody seemed to do anything to help me. my baby was born a low birth weight baby full term with very low blood sugar and spent time in the neonatal unit.

my bp was constantly through the roof and i felt ill/tired/swollen all the time...

just keep on at them hun as pre eclampsia can be life threatening.

all the best, i hope you don't develop it. :hugs::hugs:

If you are having symptoms that you think are related to PE then contact someone immediately. PE can result in placental abruptions which means that baby can become separated from you, not to mentio nthe damamge to your kidneys and liver. I would go to an after hours or Emergency Department and get it checked out. If your bp is within range and your protein is ok then fine, if not, you could have just saved you and your baby's life.

just had a midwife app. got told i have anaemia and also bp is on high side for me. Normally 116/60 and was 120/84 but they arent worried.

if you are concerned i would ask for a second opinion. i had this with my son 9 years ago i didn't find out i had it until i was in car accident. they kept an eye on me from about 33weeks until i was admitted and i had my son a month early weighing 4lb 8oz and there was nothing wrong with him it was just me. he could have gone home but i had to stay in for an extra 3days. phone your midwife and tell her your concerns and you want something done about. this is something not to mess with. i wish you the best of luck:hugs:

Hi hun, my son was stillborn through pe and I had no signs at all due to being between midwife visits. Dont want to scare you but please listen to how u feel about your body and make them listen over your concerns. At the end of the day you and babys health are the most important things and they need to listen to your concerns. I started with high bp just over wk ago in this pregnancy 143/124 and am now on meds for that but so far no other symptoms but I have checks mon, weds & fri to keep very close eye on things.

i feel the same way... i haven't been diagnosed with anything but seem to have a majority of the symptoms. basically any time i complain about something they tell me it's nothing and send me home. my blood pressure at my last appointment was 142/91 and when it went down to 130/82 they told me to go home and didn't bother to tell me to rest or do anything in particular. it's really frustrating when it seems like nobody cares.

i would go see your own GP they are much kinder and on the safer side. thats how i found out i had it with my daughter, my symptoms was swollen all over, you could press your skin in and it slowely popped back out, also i was seeing stars, like when you rub your eyes you see silver twinkles i had that nearly all day. best thing to do is try not to get stressed but go see your doc, demand they take your BP and do a urine sample for them to test with a dipstick, first urine is normally better. make sure you tell them about pain under rib as this is a sign. you are almost due so they may just help you a long a bit maybe ask for the sweep

just realised this is 12 days ago hope all is well and baby arrived safely xx

Have they told you how likely you are to get this back again in this pregnancy? And what have they advised you to do to help prevent it happening again?

I ask this as i suffered really bad with sever pre eclampsia and hellp syndrome and want to know what to expect if i decide to have another.

hello i had pre eclampsia with my daughter and was told the chance of it happening again is low if its with the same partner. dont no about hellp syndrome but maybe when you decided to try again see your doctor first

Debbie - I had to go and see a counsltant after i had my daughter as we both came so close to dying. They told me if i'd have waited another 20 minutes to go to the hospital my daughter would have been still born. At my 'appointment' i was told my chances of getting it again are fairly high and that i would be monitored closely by consultants and would spend a lot more time going in and out of hospitals for checks/tests. I know i would recieve an extra scan and more bloot tests to check things.

I was curious of what they told her about hellp because that is so dangerous. I am wanting to know what precautions they have asked her to take or what to do different to help prevent it coming back.

Also i dunno if this will interest you but i posted a poll on here a few month back to ladies who have had PE and HELLP who went on to have other childern, my question was 'if you had PE or HELLP did it come back in and future pregnancies you went on to have' something like 95% of people answered yes. It's pretty grim but it looks like if you've had it once chances are you'll get it again.

omg i did not no this, iv just stated ttc again as i was told chance is low with same partner i will be visiting doctor again. thankyou so much for letting me no. i had PIH from 26wks lots of meds which didnt help, i was told i would be monitored very closely next time as it may have caused me to hemorrage last time and i no the chance of hemorraging again is high but i no ill be monitored, i developed PE by 37 weeks and then they induced me, they said the chance of PE again was very low with same partner. thanks again i will be seeing doc as i really dont want to go through that again, ill try find poll. sorry to hear what you have experienced and im glad your both ok. i have to admit when things like this happen it puts you of wanting more, i really didnt think i would have any more as i nearly lost my life, luckily my daughter was fine. once again thanks
