I know a lot of people say 9 months on, 9 months off to balance out your pregnancy weight.

Well, I don't know if I can survive 8 more months in this body!

I don't know where to start. Exercise? Diet?
Very confused about it all.

I wish I was a rich celeb who could hire a personal trainer to get my ass in shape and then get a tummy tuck and laser out the stretchies. Blargh. Not gonna happen.

So, recent mommies: what is your game plan to get back to your normal self.

P.S. I think this would only apply to mommies who gained a significant amount of weight (30 lbs +). I know there are some lucky ladies here who didn't gain much and they are already back to most of their pre-prego clothes.

Well I didn't work really hard to lose the first 27 lbs.. I was lucky.

As for the rest of what I need to lose (32 lbs), I'm planning on going to the gym everyday, doing 45mins - 1h of treadmill at first, then once I lose some fat I'm gonna start tightening my body.

I may be crazy, but I'm now eating 800 cal a day. No more. + I walk as much as possible. I'm very determined to lose that weight and stay thin afterwards. I used to love my body, now not so much and it's depressing.

As for the stretchmarks, well my ass look like a map of the world... So does my thighs. I've started to go tanning twice a week, it seems to help them fade. I'll carry on using bio-oil too.

It definatly sucks not to be a celebrity... I wish I'd have my personal bitchy trainer that would kick my butt everyday, and my personal chef that would cook me healthy meals... Oh well !

I put loads of weight on and tbh, most of it's come off now due to BF. I not quite there yet, but I'm getting used to my new shape

Right now I'm trying to eat healthier and I'm breastfeeding. In 3 weeks I plan on doing pilates to try and tone my butt back in shape. My stomach is pretty flat now it's just loose. I know it will probably always be a little loose now because I gained about 50 pounds but hopefully it wont be to bad :( and I would love for my stretch marks to start fading already. I'm going on vacation in August and there will be no bikini for me!!!

TBH im following the 9 months on , 9 months off thing. With my first i did this too. I HATE HATE HATE my body but tbh i just have no time to bother excerising, when ella is more content in sleeping through the night and feeding on solids to keep her more happy then ill start planning on going to the gym some nights. Will be months yet but aslong as my OH loves me ill deal with it :)

I gained alot with my son. I ate smaller portions, tried light exercise. Also cleaned my house top to bottom every day which is a great workout. Just don't over do it x

My only advice is to eat healthy and walk when you can :) Do you breast-feed?

Eat healthy, small frequent meals. Start off with low impact things like walking and yoga stuff, if you have a ball they are great for strengthening core muscles... Swimming and jogging are good for when you start to get a bit back into shape.

Drink lots, try and get good sleep.

There is no need to wait 8 months to get back into shape. As long as it is gradual you will be fine.

i gained 4 1/2st with callum and i lost a 1 1/2st in the first few weeks after having him mainly from breastfeeding, ive since lost another 1 1/2st but am still 1 1/2st off my pre-pregnancy weight.

You've just got to eat a well balanced diet and take regular exercise.

I put on 49lbs by the end of my pregnancy and am now in size 12-14 clothes :( - up from a size 8-10 pre-pregnancy! The first 2 stone fell off after the birth and I've managed to work off an extra 7lbs since then, but it's been really hard and now I feel a bit like I've kind of hit a wall :hissy:

If I wasn't breastfeeding myself I think I'd be crash dieting, but I need to make sure I eat enough to make good milk for Anna - so I'm basically keeping it to a bare minimum - which doesn't seem to be enough

I will now be running for exercise and keeping all snacks out of my diet (litterally 4-5 very small meals per day) and aim (maybe unrealistically) to loose a further two stone and get down to at least a size 10 by July....

Wish me luck!!

Good luck Tasha!! You can do it.

I started jogging this weekend. I can't even last 10 mins, it's pathetic!

To all you ladies out there who are wanting to start on your weight loss goals and would like to do it from home, here is a few ideas that have helped me in the past. There is a website where you can order workout video's, they have a huge selection. No matter your age, or what kind of workout you are looking for (they even have post natal work outs). Go to Collagevideo.com, you can even preview the workout before you buy it. It tells you the full description of what to expect and what equipment you will be using. I have bought many dvd's from there. They have everything from dancing, yoga, areobics, weight training, walking and they scale it from begginner, intermediate and advanced. I trust the site and have had very good luck with the videos.

Also, there is another website that helped me a lot before I was pregnant. It is called self.com. It is free to join and there are people from all ages that talk about what they eat, what excercises to do. There is an expert on every week where you can ask questions. You can join the self challenge and it's all females.

Both are very great sites and very helpful. Self.com is a forum, just like this and collagevideo.com is for ordering work out videos (both VHS and DVD's). I hope this helps and I wish you all much luck with your weight loss goals. I'll be joining you in July sometime, hopefully getting advice from all of you. Good luck.

Thanks, I just signed up for the self challenge~ lets just see if I stick to it.

I may be crazy, but I'm now eating 800 cal a day. No more. + I walk as much as possible.

Be careful Jess that sounds very extreme.
When i was 15 i lost 26lbs in 2 weeks from just eating an apple a day and i was left with the most horrendous stretch marks from doing that, especially on my upper arms and hips. Although that was almost 15 years ago and they are now silvery they are still visable.
(Stretch marks happen when you lose weight too quickly too)

Make sure you eat a balanced healthy diet and give yourself plenty of energy for bubs :hugs:
