Hello..

I haven't been on this site that much and don't know anyone, but was hoping to get some information/advice..

I went through a miscarriage to twins in August last year and since then, my partner and I have been trying to conceive. We have had no luck so went to the doctor. To cut the story short, I had blood tests and a scan which I got the results of this morning. I have polycystic ovaries. I have never heard of it before and have been reading up a little about it. It is scaring me the more I read as I am more likely to get diabetes and IF/when I get pregnant, there is a higher risk I will misscarriage, develop pre-eclampsia or that my baby will die during pregnancy, during labour or just after I give birth :(

I am so scared and was hoping to get advice or even just to speak to someone about it.

Hey. There are many women on here who have PCOS and gone on to have perfectly healthy babies.

Sorry, but I can't give you any advice on the matter.

X

Hey girl,

Don't be scared. I also have PCOS and have read all the scary stories of stuff that can happen. I think a lot of the info out there is that this COULD happen and that CAN happen. I am pretty optimistic that if I watch my sugar intake, keep exercising, and keep taking my metformin (which you will probably end up taking too), my body should stay relatively healthy. Metformin has also been shown to lower the risk of miscarriage in PCOS women. You should ask your doctor about it.

Unfortunately, this is just the card we have been dealt and have to live with it. I have high hopes that we will all get the baby we deserve <3

Hi - I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2008. I have since had a gorgeous baby boy. It did take over a year and we have been trying again for another year to get baby number two.

I know there is a lot of scary stories but 'TRY' not to let yourself read them. Are you seeing a specialist and have they discussed medication with you?

Hello - I also have PCOS. Theere are a lot of women in here that have PCOS and it's more common that you think. I am also taking metformin like a lot of the women on here. Don't be scared. :)

I have pcos and was absolutely devestated when i was diagnosed. Had a "breakdown" in work about it, crying hysterically because i genuinely thought i would have no chance getting pg! Now i still haven't got a bfp but i am not worried as much anymore. You read so many horror stories but also some success stories! My god mother has five boys and has pcos! It can happen.

PM me if you want to chat x

I wanted to add also ... Kate Gosselin of Kate+8 has PCOS and look how many kids she now have. She did go through treatments but the kids are very healthy! :)
