so katie's not putting weight on properly AGAIN :( she's now under the 50th centile...she was on the 98th when born!

she's bein really fussy when feedin, she only feeds properly in the middle of the night and when she's not fed for ages. i know she's hungry, but she's fussing and coming off and making moaning type noises!

she's on two meals a day now aswell and she eats bloody huge portions the little porker!!

also, she's got realy dark bags under her eyes rhis week too.

i'll be so gutted if it turns out i am losing my milk :( and she wont take a bottle so i wont be able to feed her :(

Did they tell you what could be up?

Is she still gaining weight? Just slowly?

they said high birth weight babies normally drop off a bit, but she's done it a bit late. me and the HV decided there wasnt a problem a few weeks ago cos she was always happy and looked well, but her eyes look really bad now :( so we said we'd just keep an eye on it

she is stil gaining, but only about 1-2 oz eery couple of weeks. she hardly takes my right boob at all now, except in the middle of the night

O hun. It's great to hear she gaining weight. I wouldn't be suprised if she's 'found' her natural weight gain pattern or rythem now. Remember that the groth charts are based on ff babies and not bf babies!! I think you can go to the world health organisation website to get a copy of the bf chart so you can compare where she would be.

Is she weaned then? Possibly she's now getting all she needs in her diet?

When hv say 'look at her eyes', they mean the alertness of them rather than the 'rings'. They take this as one of the indications of 'not thriving' i think.

Hope it works out xxx

Rice cereal has less calories then formula or BM... So if she is filling up on that instead of having enough milk then that may be why she is loosing weight...

Good luck!!!
