We've got our first appt this week after 3 losses now. Was wondering what to expect. Are there bloods or other examinations? Do we just go over history? Would appreciate hearing what your experiences have been. Am in the UK. Thanks.

Hello and sorry for your losses :( sounds like you have really been through the mill..... I hope you can get some answers soon. Have you had any testing done yet?? I've just had my second mc and I have to go for blood tests 6 weeks after the mc to check how my blood clots to see if this could be a factor. I've already had lots of tests done and I have very low progesterone which is also a concern.... I'm also about to have a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to check my uterus lining (I have a fibroid in my uterus and ovarian cysts)
I'm sure they will do all tests required. I hope you find out why this is happening so you can get your sticky BFP..... Good luck xxx

Thanks betty. We had tests similar to those done by the rmc with the twins and all normal. Today we went through history and sent off bloods for all sorts of tests - can't remember them all. The reports weren't back on the last mc so need to chase them up. Back in 6 weeks for results. Sorry about your losses-hope you find a reason and get your sticky bean too.x

Hi nessa. I'm so sorry for your losses. My first round of RPL tests were for hemoglobin a1c (test for diabetes), thyroid test (TSH), Anti-phospholipid antibody syndrome, and a general blood clotting panel.

After having 2 more losses after that. All those tests were repeated with an added karyotyping test for me and DH, and an AMH test.

They might also do some exploring into your uterus to see if it's the right shape and anatomically capable of carrying a full-term pregnancy. Probably through a high quality ultrasound or HSG. There are corrective surgeries if there was to be a problem.

Wishing you luck and I hope you get an answer :hugs:.

Thanks confuzion. Those tests sound like the ones written on the bloods letter that I gave into pathology. Think there was 9 altogether. The last mc has been sent to a lab and the consultant said that they do karotyping there so hopefully we'll get it back soon. Had a hsg last year which was clear so hoping the womb shape etc isn't the problem. Thanks for answering and sorry for your losses.xx
