Aaagh help! I'm so fed up it's getting me down. I got thrush 3 weeks ago after antibiotics for a painful lump under my chin (lump cleared up) I took the internal+external creams and felt better after three days, I carried on the external cream for a couple more days, stopped, then two days later it was back! This time I just used the external cream, again I felt better next day this time, but carried in cream for a few more days, two days after I stopped the cream it's back AGAIN! This time I went to the gp who just prescribed the exact same cream treatment and gave me a swab to go myself (she said as it goes away with the cream it's probably thrush) I used the internal cream last night, woke up today feeling better so didn't use anymore cream, by this afternoon I felt a bit irritated and itchy again so I've started the external cream (the internal is just one dose) I know it'll just come back again when I stop the cream. What's going on? What do I do? The gp was a waste of time!
I did notice when I started to itch today that the itching seemed to be bought on by a large amount if discharge (been getting this a lot) it's kind of yellow, maybe slightly green, does that sound like thrush?) (sorry for tmi)

Ugh I'm so sorry! I feel your pain right now, I keep having to use external thrush cream and whenever I stop it starts back up again :( it's one of the many wonderful things about being pregnant... :haha:

I get a yellowish discharge when I'm pregnant in general, and there's more of it when I have thrush, so I'd say that's normal but you might want to double check with a doctor. Maybe ask to see a different one this time and ask for another form of treatment, ie. a tablet or pessary?

I hope it goes away completely soon!

I feel your pain too. I had it almost continuously with ds2 and I'm having it pretty much all the time with this pregnancy too. I just keep using the cream. I don't think it does any harm. You can't have the tablet but the pessary is worth a shot if you haven't already.

My discharge is more white and flakey, sorry for the TMI!

Hope it clears up soon x

Try taking a good probiotic too. And cutting back on sugar and carbs. The last time I had a yeast infection, I had to cut out all sugars and carbs for about a week while taking an oral probiotic. Yeast feeds on sugar so if you eliminate it for a while, it should help.

Thanks for all your help girls. I'll try those suggestions, definitely going to ask for a different dr when I go back! Hope you all kick thrush's ass too, it's the worst! Xx

Thank you for posting this! I've been dealing with thrush this week - never had it before. So, will definitely be cutting out sugar from now on

I want to echo how helpful it is to cut out sugar and carbs. It can help so much!
