I had my second c section 20 weeks ago (baby's born at 33 and 30 weeks but doing great) and so far I have had 6 YES 6 rounds of antibiotics for UTI 4 of which have been confirmed as E Coli e others were either too early or too late for a definite diagnosis although there were significant growth!
DR says its a recurring infection rather than new bacteria and more than likely contracted at some point due to the mode of delivery and being catheterised for 2 days as I was seriously ill after. The standard 3 and 5 day courses of anti biopics have not worked and my next move is to try long term antibiotics as the Dr is certain fit may return sooner rather than later!
I'm not in pain or anything just very strong odour and going to loo a lot but very frustrating back and forward with samples and prescriptions.
Has anyone else suffered UTI's after your sections? X
