Just wondering if any of you ladies have experience of this actually getting labour started? And did you go to a qualified reflexologist or try it at home? I've read a few bits online and seen a video on you tube. I thought about asking my partner to try tonight, I'm 39 weeks today and so ready to meet my little man! Although I know that he will come when he is ready and if nothing it'll be a nice treat to have a massage! Thoughts please? x

I did this with my first by myself and went into labour 8 hours after but I had meconium in my waters and had an awful labour and delivery. A huge part of me believes that he was distressed from me possibly forcing labour. I was 39+6 when I did it and he arrived at 40+1. Safe to say after that I just let labour come naturally with my second and went into labour at 39+3 on my own. :)

However, I know of two people who got it done professionally and one's waters went during and one went into labour almost instantly too.

Thanks for sharing. It does worry me that it could have an impact on baby and delivery and of course I don't ever want to risk anything going wrong. But then like you say I know a couple of friends who tried it and they went into labour within 24 hours and everything was fine. I have my mw app on Thursday so I'll ask her advice too, although I'm hoping I won't need the app!
