Ok so i was wondering how many babies suffer with relfux, whether it be self diagnosed or by a doctor/nurse.

I was also curious whether it affected more breastfed or formula fed babies or combination feeders.

I did a poll above if you don't mind.

Thanks :D

Colton was formula fed, and had bad reflux. Now he is on cows milk and still has reflux, but because he's older now he usually keeps milk down and only sicks up food

Marlie doesn't really have it anymore, so I hope that it's ok to vote? I thought she had it, took her to the doctor who agreed and put her on medicine. She had both bm and formula until she was about 7 weeks old when she refused to take a bottle, so went onto full bm. At about 4 months I started combo feeding her again, although it was mostly bm.

yes of course i didn't just mean babies now, i meant any LO's ever have it. :D

Thank you for voting.

my baby girl has acid reflux - doesn't actually be sick but bring acid/milk up into her throat - she is formular fed!

My son had reflux up until he was 9 months , it seems to be gone now

jacob has reflux, Diagnoised by doc and comfirmed by piedtrition he is formula fed XxX

Elliot is getting over his reflux, but had it confirmed by gp and paediatrician. He is formula fed, and on gaviscon still.

keely.

Brooke has Reflux, diag by Doc and is FF

Though i must say she doesnt have it quite a sbad as some of the poor LO's ive seen on here bless them

My little Brooke has reflux too-diagnosed by doctor. she is 100% breastfed.
She gags for aaaages and then is violently sick, its like she cant catch her breath sometimes. It scares the hell out of me  poor little girlie.

Now this is going back some years, but my eldest son who's now 16 was at first diagnosed with reflux when he was a baba. Gaviscon didnt help. This went on until he was 6 weeks, he was in and out of hospital, in more than out. The vomit was projectile and could hit the wall with a splatter! Eventually a junior doc went out on a limb and ordered a barium meal. She got into a lot of trouble for going behind the consultants backs. But good job she did. My son was then diagnosed with pyloric stenosis, was rushed to surgery where the outlet muscle from the stomach was released as it was closed so tight only a drop of milk could get through. We were told after he was hours from starving to death, so the junior doc saved his life.

Oh, and he was formula fed as he refused the boobie from the start! Not sure if I should vote or not!!

wow marsbar, that must have been sooo scary! Good on that young doctor, sometimes they do know better than their peers. Thankgoodness your LO was ok in the end. :)

Erin has reflux which I suspected since she was about 6 weeks old. The GP agreed with me and confirmed it at 8 weeks. She was breastfed at the time but has been on formula since she was 4 months. I think its gotten slightly better with the formula as it seems to be a little heavier. I only give her Gaviscon at night now.

I was petrified in all honesty. First child and their ill, you go into panic mode. I'm so thankful to that young junior who took the chance. :)
