hey ladies. :flower: as you may know, I was diagnosed with PCOS just before Christmas. at the start of this month, we had our hospital appointment with the consultant. we left feeling pretty defeated and heartbroken when he told us we wouldn't qualify for any fertility treatment on the NHS, because I already had my daughter (we can't afford private treatment :( ). I was so confused and upset by this at first, because all of my symptoms etc. started happening AFTER I'd had Amelia, and the baby we're trying for now, will be Dan's first child. I just don't understand how they can hand out free boob jobs to people like Josie Cunningham, but can't help a couple conceive their first baby together - the world is bonkers if you ask me! anyway, I won't rant about that, as I'll be here all night! :haha:
however, it's not all bad, because this month I've had my first normal cycle since June last year! :happydance: I'm now feeling a lot more positive that we'll conceive naturally, even if it does take a while longer. I'm praying that this next cycle will be relatively normal, and I'll actually ovulate again. It'd be the perfect wedding present for us both if I was to fall pregnant this month, but I'd be happy with another normal cycle too. :) anyone else here with PCOS?

That's wonderful you started a cycle! I also have PCOS and after coming off BCP in 2013, only had one cycle on my own. All of my other cycles had to be medicated. I'm so sorry that you "don't qualify" for treatment.... What a load of crap! hopefully you can conceive naturally. That is an awesome sign that you're cycling on your own. Are you using OPK's?

Hi,

It's awful that you don't qualify... Hope for some natural success for you :)

I have PCOS too. I have a 2 year old daughter, born from a donor & IVF treatment, which we had to have privately after a previous unsuccessful attempt on the NHS.

The second time I actually travelled abroad, to Embio Clinic in Greece for IVF, which was a great decision. We had to save for a year for it, but it was much less expensive than treatment in the UK! It's hard, definitely. I actually feel like the past 2 years we've had more money available than before, with a baby to look after!

Good luck in your journey, best wishes! x
