alright, so im 17 i have an 8 month old daughter and im worried.

I have been on the birth contorl patch since i stopped breastfeeding ( about 5 months ago) I got my period last monday, and its now tuesday of the following week.. and the longest periiod i have ever had was 7 days. This time the blood is more of a brown thna it is red, and i am so crampy and such.. i was basically just wondering if that could be possible signs of pregnancy or mc, so just let me know what you think

it might just be a long period i am not sure  hope its not too serious

I think it just takes time for your body to adjust after having a baby and then being 17, your periods might not have regulated yet and then add birth controll to it that could be the reasons... If you are truely worried, I would call your dr

My friend said her period took about a year to go back to normal after having her son. (As in correct length, normal looking blood, once per month, etc.) She was 17, and got her period on and off for 5 months straight after birth (she didn't breastfeed..)

Just sounds like a long period to me. Mine always used to varie from length and flow.
If your worried your pregnant do a test

I'd maybe guess the birth control could be causing it? I've been having weird periods since coming off the pill, last one was realllllly painful and kinda heavy but oddly short. If you're worried check in with your doc. You could always do a pregnancy test? And it should still show pos if you're mid-miscarrying. :hugs:

I think that im probably just a hypocondriac getting pregnant again is just my biggest fear. Loll.. some days im just overdramatic.. being on my period doesnt help.

It's okay, I was mega paranoid when I was on the pill as it stopped my periods. I guess I was veering to the other side though, hoping that I MIGHT be pregnant. :)

I felt the same this period, because I got a faint line on a pregnancy test, I was scared I was miscarrying or something and because I was worried, I made a bit of a deal out of it so my boyfriend was feeling similar. Period is the perfect excuse to be a bit out of sorts anyway ;) Hope everything's okay.

xx

My SIL had a miscarriage when her daughter was about 10 months old. She had been BFing, and then got her period - but it seemed to her a strange one. (I didn't ask in what way). Anyway, she's got a BSc in nursing, so she knew that if she took a pregnancy test, it would tell her if she had been pregnant or not. Sure enough, it showed a positive result - but clearly, with all the bleeding it was a miscarriage.

Having that information wasn't probably really necessary - but, also probably isn't bad for her to have on her medical records.

With as much as you've been bleeding, you're surely not pregnant.
